The Traitors Recap: Robbed Blind

I’ve noticed Maura’s hair getting fluffier each episode, and it seems to mirror how much she’s starting to trust Rob. Honestly, it feels like Rob’s win is already a done deal – it’s practically being served to him on a silver platter, just like the smoked salmon! The Faithfuls really believe in him, and with their doubts about Johnny and Tara, the game feels pretty much decided unless something unexpected happens. I was right to suspect last week that Rob and Eric would target Kristen after she questioned Eric, and she unfortunately had to leave. But what did surprise me is that Rob and Eric want Natalie gone next. While I think getting rid of her would be smart for them, they first need to distract everyone from looking at Johnny and Tara.

Things just got trickier. Tara’s surprisingly accurate intuition – she’s usually all over the place, but she’s right this time – points to Rob as the traitor. Natalie agrees, noting that he’s the last person anyone would suspect, making him a prime suspect. However, Rob holds a powerful advantage: he has two votes thanks to the dagger, which makes getting rid of him particularly challenging.

The group confronts Maura, questioning why Candiace mentioned Rob, but Maura firmly defends him, insisting he’s not a traitor – she’d even bet her life on it, and jokes that she might actually have to pay that price! Not only does she refuse to believe them, but she immediately tells Rob, Eric, and Mark what the others said before they even reached their destination. With Johnny siding with Tara and Natalie, the group is now divided, four against three.

The players faced a carnival-style challenge where they spun around on a carousel before searching for gold hidden inside stuffed animals. Eric and Tara couldn’t participate in the spinning due to health concerns, giving them an advantage. Rob, after missing out on a protective shield, lashed out at Mark, potentially damaging their alliance. Meanwhile, Natalie attempted to gain Maura’s trust by helping her find gold. In the end, Eric won the shield, meaning everyone was vulnerable to elimination that night.

Tara and Johnny started the day confidently and, surprisingly, were right about things. But after the mission, they both began to second-guess themselves. Johnny admitted everyone seems to be focused on Natalie, and he’s starting to believe the others are correct. They’re the only hopeful part of what’s otherwise been a disappointing season. I’m fascinated by watching them struggle through the game, and even more by how aware they are of their own shortcomings. They don’t trust anyone – not even themselves – and it’s incredibly relatable to see them forced to make difficult choices while feeling completely unsure.

As the group discussion begins, Tara starts to have second thoughts, and surprisingly tries to take a step back after being the most vocal against Rob earlier. This doesn’t sit well with Natalie, who becomes Rob’s target before managing to turn the tables on him. Natalie presents strong evidence against Rob – Candiace’s vote – but is stunned when Tara suggests it could have been an insignificant one. Natalie immediately calls Tara out for this change of heart, feeling used and abandoned. While Tara isn’t intentionally malicious, she’s struggling to trust her instincts and is avoiding taking a firm stance, and Natalie is suffering the consequences. The discussion ends in a disagreement, leaving everyone unsure of how the vote will ultimately go.

In the end, Natalie was voted out—mainly because of a spiteful vote from another player—and everyone agreed on the decision, despite her angry protests. This was a big victory for Rob, but left Tara deeply upset. She’s really struggling in the castle, breaking down in tears and wishing the game would end. After Natalie’s banishment, the others began to consider who the Traitors might be. Mark noticed Eric hadn’t been very involved, and Johnny shared the same suspicion with Tara and Maura. In a private interview, Johnny finally figured it out, declaring, “I believe Rob and Eric are the two remaining Traitors,” after being wrong for most of the season.

The two traitors hiding in the turret are deciding who to eliminate, but there’s a catch: the person they choose will be publicly executed, and they’ll need to pretend to be shocked. While it seems most likely they’ll target one of the “skating twins,” they’re also considering killing their allies, Maura or Mark, to deflect suspicion. We don’t find out who they’ve chosen yet – the castle grounds are empty except for an empty coffin – but Maura surprisingly seems convinced she’s the target.
