The Traitors Recap: Do the Dead Dance

With only three players left as potential victims – Ian, Mark, and Eric – the Traitors made their final decision. They considered Ian a strong player, Mark an unpredictable one, and Eric a quiet player whose elimination could cause chaos. Surprisingly, after a season of infighting, the Traitors unanimously agreed to eliminate Ian, believing his strong gameplay background from Big Brother made him the biggest threat.

Breakfast is a bright spot. Lisa jokes about always being the first one in the door, a habit Rinna quickly labels as ‘iconic’ – she finds a way to call everything Lisa does iconic. Candiace arrives dressed as a flight attendant, and Porsha, while enjoying a hearty breakfast of three eggs, seemed to have already forgotten the drama she caused the previous night, dismissing it as no big deal. Rob R. is channeling his Love Island days with a daring sweater-vest look. But the real highlight is Dorinda, who receives a standing ovation and tears up after making it through her first night. While everyone was relieved, it’s clear the producers only allowed that to happen because they want to see what kind of trouble Dorinda might cause.

After breakfast, the players started discussing who seemed suspicious, although it was probably too soon to be sure. Tiffany suggested Donna, pointing out that she hadn’t shown much emotion or made an effort to connect with others. However, someone noted that Donna often appears reserved, even when promoting her job as Ziploc’s “Chief Leftover Officer” on television. Colton then added that people are hesitant to criticize Donna, fearing backlash from Taylor Swift’s fans, who are known to fiercely defend her. They joked that mentioning anything negative would add you to a list of people Swifties consider enemies.

It turns out Porsha is the most likely suspect, and it’s not just because she caused drama with Michael and Candiace the night before. While talking to Ron and Donna, she accidentally reveals some suspicious information twice. First, she says Ian is “the one I killed,” and then she says, “If we kill a Faithful…” The surprising thing is that Porsha is supposedly not a Traitor, although the recent twist complicates things. Even if she is a Traitor, it seems unlikely she actually committed any killings, making these statements seem like honest mistakes. It’s worth remembering that Porsha once incorrectly stated there were 265 days in a year, so she’s prone to errors. If Ron knew that, he might not be so convinced by this evidence.

Donna and Ron hit it off on the way to the challenge. She mentioned knowing he was a good person because they’d both worked with Travis. It made me try to remember what shows Travis Kelce had been on – I briefly thought of Loot before realizing Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? was the one. It’s good that Donna’s found someone she connects with.

The contestants are met by Alan, who is wearing a rather outlandish, shiny costume, and informed of their challenge: to pull three throne-laden carts back to the castle. As they pull the carts, they’ll gather money and tokens which will determine who gets to sit on the thrones, and those seated will receive protective shields. The most memorable moment? Candiace hitting a bump and exclaiming, “Ah! My uterus!”

In the end, Yam Yam, Colton, and Caroline won the shields, and Michael is confused about how that happened. He’s asking how it was “decided,” but it was simply because they collected the tokens. Honestly, it’s hard to tell if he’s just acting spoiled or if he genuinely doesn’t understand the game. He keeps causing drama, and the other players are starting to wonder if he’s a terrible Faithful player or a terrible Traitor. Rob R. reminded everyone that Michael is an actor, but he’s not a very good one—he mostly just acts silly.

At the discussion, three people immediately become suspects. Donna is one of them, and she explains her quiet nature is just how she is. She believes she’s an obvious target because she doesn’t seem to have any connections to the others. That’s a fair point – why focus on someone who appears so alone when there are others with reputations or support?

Ron continued building his case against Porsha, pointing out not only her previous mistakes but also a new one: she confidently stated there were four Traitors, information she couldn’t possibly know unless she’d secretly visited the turret. Since we know she hasn’t been up there, and there’s no reason to think the secret Traitor received information about the number of other Traitors, it seems she’s being careless with what she says. She repeatedly claimed she simply misspoke – three times, in fact.

The focus then shifts to Michael, a frustrated player who wished to be in Scotland, and he immediately starts complaining that no one will give him a shield. In the process, he accidentally reveals, “We got rid of Ian,” which immediately grabs everyone’s attention and causes a lively reaction. Maura suggests he simply be quiet, but he doesn’t seem to be able to help himself. He’s clearly struggling with the game, but Alan thankfully intervenes by calling for a vote. During this moment, the camera shows Michael reaching over and secretly taking Dorinda’s water – he’s so anxious and thirsty that he’s been drinking constantly throughout the discussion.

Although Porsha’s elimination wasn’t entirely unexpected considering the evidence, it was still sad to see her go. It’s always tough when someone who’s so entertaining on TV is voted off. Porsha was great at being on camera, but struggled with the strategy of the game, repeatedly implying she was eliminating players when she wasn’t. The room was shocked when she revealed she was a ‘Faithful’ player. Donna immediately expressed dismay, and Ron tearfully apologized as Porsha exited the game.

Ron admitted he made a mistake in sending a strong player home, and that instantly made me root for him again. Now, though, everyone is questioning his decision. Meanwhile, Donna explained her quietness by saying she’s a big fan of all the other contestants and feels intimidated. She jokingly compared meeting them to meeting Paul McCartney at the Super Bowl, which was a funny and unexpected comparison! It actually made a lot of sense, considering who else is in the competition.

And there’s more to come tonight! The Traitors have been told they’ll commit tonight’s murder openly, using hidden tarot cards to represent the players they’ve chosen. They need to secretly grab and burn these cards. If they succeed, they’ll finally meet their fellow Traitor, but they’ll have to figure out how to clear out the kitchen without being seen.

“Now would be the perfect time for a conga line!” Candiace yells. I can’t believe she’d announce it so obviously, but surprisingly, it works. It also alerts Rob C. to the fact that someone is being targeted right in front of everyone, but you can’t have everything! While Candiace distracts everyone with a conga line, Rob R. seizes the tarot cards. This leaves Lisa and him to decide who to eliminate: Monet, Rob C., Tara, or Kristen. One of them will be voted out and ‘burned’.
