The video begins with a tiny Bowser, played by Jack Black, proudly displaying a portrait of himself and Princess Peach, voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy.
Peach and Toad then venture into a new galaxy, and the trailer soon shows Bowser Jr. vowing to rescue his father after his defeat in the previous movie.
During the Nintendo Direct presentation, Jack Black revealed that Benny Safdie will be the voice of Bowser Jr. We also saw Bowser Jr. using a special power-up while fighting Mario and Luigi. It’s clear that The Super Mario Bros. Movie sequel, like the first one, will be full of hidden references and nods to the original games.
The video concludes with an exciting battle against Princess Rosalina. During the stream, it was also revealed that Brie Larson, known for her role as Captain Marvel, will be the voice of Rosalina, who is often called the “Watcher of the Stars” in the games.
