The Strangers fans just ran for their lives to watch Chapter 3 early

Horror enthusiasts recently ran a thrilling 3k race with a spooky theme for the opportunity to be among the first to see ‘The Strangers – Chapter 3′.

Movie studios are putting audiences through their paces for preview opportunities at the moment.

To promote the new Stephen King movie, The Long Walk, Lionsgate held a unique screening event. Fans could watch the 108-minute film, but only if they continuously walked on a treadmill at over 3 miles per hour throughout the entire movie.

That studio is back with another immersive experience, but this time, instead of a leisurely walk, participants are running a scary three kilometers as part of their ‘Strangers’ challenge.

The Strangers – Chapter 3 fans given chance to live the horror

The Strangers 3 race took place in Los Angeles and covered three kilometers, with each kilometer symbolizing one of the Strangers films.

The nighttime race promised runners a diverse course with fields, woods, and hills. Participants should expect to be startled by actors dressed as ‘Strangers’ appearing from the darkness, and challenged by obstacles designed to push their stamina.

One runner, known as Khailanonymous, shared on Instagram about a real-life horror experience tied to the release of ‘The Strangers 3.’ A 3k race was held as a promotion, with the terrifying twist that participants could face real danger, and unfortunately, some people were seriously injured.

The course took place in a secluded, rundown area with dirt roads, shadowy woods, and abandoned carousels. And, naturally, the people running the course – ‘The Strangers’ – would appear unexpectedly, keeping the adrenaline pumping the entire time.

Okay, so I’m a huge fan of ‘The Strangers’ and I just did this crazy 3K ‘Survival Run’ to celebrate the movie! It wasn’t about enjoying a jog – it was a full-on sprint for my life, seriously! I was channeling my inner ‘Final Girl’ and pushing to get to that finish line, though honestly, I wasn’t sure if I’d make it!

I just discovered what really motivates me to run: being chased through the woods by three people in masks wielding an axe! It seems the old saying ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ is especially true in this… strange situation.

Those who survived the competition got to see an advance screening of the movie. Everyone else can watch ‘The Strangers – Chapter 3’ when it’s released in theaters tomorrow, February 6, 2026.
