The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Adds Tattoo Artist Career And Ceramic Incense Burners

I’m thrilled to share that as a devoted fan, I can’t help but excitedly announce the next expansion pack for The Sims 4 – Businesses & Hobbies! After keeping us guessing with subtle hints during their 25-hour live stream, Maxis finally unveiled an official trailer and release date this morning. The expansion is slated to drop on March 6th!

In a move that has sparked some debate among Sims enthusiasts, evident from the comments on the video, the new Businesses & Hobbies expansion appears to significantly enhance and refine the 2015’s Get to Work expansion while also incorporating aspects of The Sims 2’s well-loved Open for Business expansion. This addition not only introduces two new hobbies, tattooing and pottery-making, but also allows sims to fully own and manage multiple businesses and services. While the trailer showcases Branche Tattoo studio and a solo pottery business, it seems there will be a variety of goods and services for sims to offer for profit.

As a gamer, I’ve found that the pottery-making skill shares some similarities with other crafty pursuits like painting, baking, and knitting. However, nothing quite compares to the tattooing skill! With its innovative Paint Mode, players are unleashed into a realm of artistic liberty. In this mode, I can let my creativity run wild by sketching designs, placing stencils, and meticulously adjusting colors and patterns to give my sims some truly unique tattoos. It’s an exhilarating experience that lets me express myself like never before!

Beyond operating a tattoo parlor and pottery studio, the trailer hints at new ventures for sims such as running a gym, owning a candy store, and curating an art gallery. The video showcased sims’ potential to teach classes for financial gain, effectively monetizing their expertise. While a definitive list of businesses sims can manage has not been disclosed, the presence of various small business icons in the Edit Small Business Menu suggests a wide range of potential enterprises, including arcades, casinos, waterparks, animal shelters, bakeries, laundromats, beauty parlors, and many others.

One thrilling feature that comes with managing a business in the world of Businesses & Hobbies is the ability for your characters to run their ventures right from home. Previously, owning a separate community lot was necessary, but now, players can choose to designate specific zones within their homes as residential, public, or exclusive for employees. The trailer suggests that sims may even be able to transfer both their skills and businesses to their children, thus establishing a family business tradition.

18th major update for the game, titled Businesses & Hobbies, will continue to serve as the main title in the series for some time. While Maxis is developing a new version of The Sims called Project Rene, this upcoming game is being presented as an online, multiplayer edition – a concept that seems reminiscent and leaves us questioning its authenticity.

Speaking about The Sims updates, Maxis recently gained attention with the launch of Legacy Editions for both The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 last month. To be frank, I found The Sims 1 particularly challenging. Nevertheless, players have shared their dismay over numerous annoying bugs that have made enjoying these nostalgic games a bit troublesome.
