The long-running animated series, created by Matt Groening and debuting in 1989, is celebrating a major achievement. As it nears its 800th episode during its current 37th season, the show is introducing a new logo and a revised version of its iconic theme song.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the 800th episode of The Simpsons, called “Irrational Treasure,” will send the Simpson family on a trip to Pennsylvania. The episode will also include some well-known guest stars: Kevin Bacon will voice a hotel concierge, and Quinta Brunson will play a character named Adrienne.
Fans of The Pitt will be happy to hear that Noah Wyle, Taylor Dearden, and Katherine LaNasa are returning to lend their voices to the project. Wyle will play a doctor, LaNasa a nurse, and Dearden an intern. Plus, Philadelphia native Questlove will make a guest appearance as a tour guide.
The special episode will air on Sunday, February 15th, and features a unique logo celebrating this important event. Krusty the Clown is the main focus, and you can see the logo below.
To celebrate its 800th episode, The Simpsons is getting a refresh! Along with a new logo, the show will feature a reimagined opening and closing theme song performed by Boyz II Men. They’ll be singing the iconic title sequence, and a new version of the closing music will play during the credits.
The latest episode promises an exciting story that combines the fun of the National Dog Show with the intrigue of a historical puzzle.
Marge tries to help the family dog, Santa’s Little Helper, get in shape, which unexpectedly leads to dog agility competitions and a trip to the National Dog Show in Philadelphia. While there, Marge and Homer stumble into a thrilling historical mystery, much like the plot of a National Treasure film.
Season 37 of The Simpsons begins September 27, 2025, and boasts a fantastic lineup of guest stars! Viewers can expect appearances from Viola Davis, Lindsay Lohan, Michael Keaton, Idris Elba, Albert Brooks, Kieran Culkin, Kerry Washington, Brendan Gleeson, Domhnall Gleeson, Johnny Knoxville, Jon Lovitz, Stephanie Hsu, Cole Escola, and Julianne Moore. This season will have 15 episodes, culminating in a special 800th episode finale.
I was so excited to hear that The Simpsons is coming back for a 38th season! It was confirmed last April, and we’re expecting the new episodes this fall. They haven’t given us a specific date yet, but the best news is that it’s not the end – they’ve already said the show will continue all the way through season 40! I’m really looking forward to it.
New episodes of The Simpsons air every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/ PT on Fox.
