The popular ABC series The Rookie is expanding with a new spin-off! Announced last year, The Rookie: North is officially in development, as the network has ordered a pilot episode.
Following the success of The Rookie, which premiered in 2018 and has become a hugely popular police drama, a new spin-off called The Rookie: North is coming soon. Jay Ellis will star as the lead, playing another new police officer who joins the Pierce County Police Department after experiencing a home invasion. Alex Holland, played by Ellis, didn’t think he was the type to have a mid-life crisis. However, after a frightening home invasion awakens a hidden drive, he decides to join the Pierce County Police Department as their oldest new recruit. He’ll face challenges policing areas ranging from the city to the countryside, where help isn’t always close by, and will need to prove to his trainer, his fellow rookies, and himself that he’s finally found a purpose worth fighting for.
