Whitney Rose advocates for the rights of people with red hair. Lisa Barlow was unaware she’d used ‘redhead’ as an insult until the show aired, at which point she publicly defended those with red hair. Her dramatic exit from the scene wasn’t actually about the comment and was short-lived. She explains she simply needed a break until Lisa calmed down.
Now that Whitney’s left, Lisa is focusing her anger on Angie and her businesses, claiming Angie only truly owns one and a half of the Lunatic Fringe locations, the rest being franchises. This leads to a debate about exactly which half Angie owns. Angie defends herself, stating she actually owns three locations and playfully retorts, “You do French fries, I do franchises.” Many people, including myself, recognize Angie’s intelligence. Mary even commented with a laugh, “That was good!” It’s especially upsetting because Angie has been a supporter of Lisa’s sons’ business, Fresh Wolf, by carrying their products in her stores. However, Angie isn’t afraid to be critical herself, dismissing Fresh Wolf as a low-tier business. It’s quite a moment when a Real Housewife feud escalates to criticizing a child’s line of conditioner.
Heather finally addressed the group’s negativity, rightfully calling everyone out, including Lisa. It was especially surprising considering they were doing this in front of Amy! Amazingly, Heather managed to reach Lisa, who started crying and expressing her love for Angie, who reciprocated. It was a total emotional rollercoaster! Even Lisa and Bronwyn managed to make peace, enough for them to share a toast with everyone. Lisa sweetly said she loved them all, even when she was upset. That’s what makes this show so captivating and explains why the cast stays so consistent – they’re all incredibly resilient women.
What truly makes this show exceptional is its attention to the smallest details. There’s a seemingly unimportant scene of Heather and Mary grabbing lunch – something most reality shows would cut. But *Salt Lake* kept it in because Mary casually mentions tequila “tastes like hospital.” This is a clever callback to the very first episode, where she told Jen Shah she smelled like a hospital, and jokingly added that everything with a smell has a taste, even farts. While explaining this, Heather playfully breaks the fourth wall, sharing a laugh with the viewers. It’s a reminder that Heather, at her core, is one of us – she just happens to be *in* the show.
I really appreciated a small detail in the show: footage of Bronwyn accidentally driving over the curb when she arrived to meet with Lisa. Thankfully, the meeting itself went much better than her parking! They wisely went back to the root of the problem – Lisa’s unexpected family connection to Gwen’s grandparents and how that storyline unfolded. Everyone apologized for their mistakes, acknowledging the hurtful things said and the unnecessary digging into the past, and promised to move forward positively.
Lisa and Angie are still feuding. Angie told Heather that Lisa’s assistant unexpectedly came to her salon to collect all the remaining “Fresh Wolf” products. Honestly, these stylists are incredibly creative and always push boundaries with their work. Lisa offered to send cleaners to Angie’s salon, implying it was dusty, but Angie retorted that the products themselves were dusty because they’d been sitting there for two years. Lisa then brought up a past loan and a credit card issue, though Angie insists she’s mistaken. It seems Lisa plans to address those claims soon.
Mary and her cousin, Joe, recently visited her church after its renovations were finished. More significantly, they talked about Mary’s difficult relationship with her mother, who passed away a few months ago. For those new to *RHOSLC*, Mary’s history is quite unusual – she married her step-grandfather to inherit her grandmother’s church, a decision her mother strongly opposed. This is the first time we’ve heard Mary discuss this in a while, and she admits it was strange, but she was fulfilling her grandmother’s wishes. With her mother now gone, Mary feels like she’s closing a painful chapter in her life. Even while emotional, she manages to lighten the mood with a funny mistake, briefly mistaking a Louis Vuitton mask for a tissue.
Whitney and Britani, matched together seemingly just because their names rhyme, went shopping and talked about Whitney’s on-again, off-again engagement with Jared. They’re trying to work things out, but it’s complicated because Britani worries her daughter, Olivia, feels neglected. It’s understandable that a mother would prioritize her child, but Britani admits it’s a difficult request. Whitney was genuinely shocked by this and tried to reason with Britani, urging her to put Olivia first, even if it meant slowing down her relationship. Whether Britani truly understood Whitney’s point remains to be seen, but it seems Jared isn’t going anywhere soon.
Bronwyn is having a conversation with her mom about her relationship with Gwen and her boyfriend. Bronwyn wants openness and honesty in her relationships, preferring to know what Gwen is up to rather than having secrets kept from her, something she experienced herself. Her mom doesn’t agree, and they argue about how to best parent a teenager. It’s frustrating because Bronwyn’s mom insists her approach is better, despite the fact that Bronwyn became pregnant. Even more upsetting, her mom continues to be unkind and treats the pregnancy like it was a personal failing on her part. I generally avoid criticizing women with bobs, but this behavior is truly awful.
Despite ongoing family drama, some relationships are starting to improve. After a tentative peace offering during a camping trip, Meredith and Angie connect again, though Angie has ulterior motives. She uses the meeting to share a story about a past conflict – the “Fresh Wolf” incident – and reveals that Lisa used to encourage her to find damaging information about Meredith when they weren’t friends, even suggesting specific things to investigate about Meredith’s family. Meredith claims she’s skeptical, but her reaction suggests she suspects it’s true. Ultimately, both women realize Meredith will have to confront Lisa to uncover the truth.
