I’ve always been incredibly curious about other people’s lives, and honestly, I’d rather follow their dramas than deal with my own. I’m the type of person who will intentionally turn off music just to eavesdrop on a juicy phone call, whether it’s on the subway or in a restaurant. I’m always keeping an eye (and an ear) out for what’s happening around me – it’s actually a big reason why I became a journalist!
Ideally, episodes like tonight’s are exactly what I’m here for. The show is supposed to be about the women working through their issues and finally talking everything out. But honestly, I often don’t even understand what they’re fighting about, and when I do, it feels like they’re overreacting. It’s like only hearing one person yell – I don’t know the background or what led to the conflict, so it’s impossible to know who’s right or wrong with so little information.
The main source of drama continues to be Stacey. Ashley and Gizelle are still stuck in a loop – they can’t understand Stacey and keep bringing up her past relationship with Chris Samuels as evidence of her untrustworthiness. Honestly, I don’t understand why anyone should care about who single people date. If Chris was attracted to someone else, that’s his business! I wish Stacey would just admit to her past and move on. This whole thing feels like a non-issue to me, and I’m also not concerned about her declining to be a bridesmaid in Jassi’s wedding, which doesn’t seem likely to last anyway. Stacey probably figured Jassi wouldn’t return to the show, but they were never close enough for a genuine bridesmaid invitation. If Stacey wants to focus on building a business for her daughter instead, that’s perfectly fine with me.
The conversation between Wendy, Gizelle, and Keiarna is particularly confusing. After meeting at the harbor, Wendy told Gizelle her side of the story, which is odd considering Wendy was upset about what Keiarna supposedly said to Jassi. They’re now revisiting issues from two years ago that were already resolved on the reunion show. It’s frustrating because Keiarna previously shared her feelings of being abandoned after the assault – something that was discussed with Andy, along with Gizelle’s grief over her father’s passing. It feels like Keiarna’s concerns are being ignored and she’s being portrayed negatively, and the fact that she’s only addressing this in private interviews is suspicious. This behavior confirms Keiarna’s suspicions about Wendy, who seems to be manipulating the situation to her advantage. However, Keiarna often lets her emotions get the best of her, allowing Wendy to win arguments by default. Luckily, Tia steps in to mediate, helping Gizelle and Keiarna find some common ground while Wendy removes herself from the situation. It’s tiring to watch Keiarna struggle to express what’s happening without becoming overwhelmed, but she clearly understands Wendy’s tactics, and it’s likely someone else will eventually challenge her.
Honestly, I don’t understand why we’re supposed to be invested in Jassi’s marital drama. She seems really insecure about her marriage and being on the show, and it’s leading her to overreact to everything. Her bringing up a supposed conversation with Keiarna feels pointless – everyone is gossiping, and Wendy is just as involved as anyone else, except when she decides to take offense. Even less interesting is the argument about filters; let’s be real, they’re all using FaceTune, and I couldn’t care less who makes theirs look ‘better.’ By the time Jassi starts yelling at Tia with a fork in her hand over a harmless joke about their chef, I’m completely lost. A joke like that shouldn’t cause such a huge reaction unless the relationship is already fragile, and it’s not the other women’s place to fix it.
Jassi can be a bit confrontational, which feels a little forced, but she’s great at going with the flow and having fun when she wants to. We’ve seen bachelorette parties on shows like Real Housewives of Atlanta many times, but Jassi’s energy makes even silly moments – like the cast giving her a playful performance – feel new and enjoyable. That is, until Angel arrives and brings a lot of negativity. Apparently, Jassi privately told Angel that she’d been receiving messages accusing Angel of bullying and being unkind, stemming from a past conflict with someone who interfered in her relationship and accusations of financial issues with an ex. It was a confusing conversation, and Jassi didn’t want to discuss it on camera. However, after drinking, Angel broke down and cried to her husband, which she’s been doing every night since arriving in Nevis. I’m starting to feel bad for the other women. While I understand Angel is sensitive, especially being so recently postpartum and still pumping milk, the cast doesn’t know her well enough to know what might upset her, and she isn’t clearly communicating her needs. It’s understandable she might need extra care right now, but she can’t expect that level of consideration on a show like Potomac. She needs to either adjust her expectations or find a way to manage her emotions. Honestly, I’d rather see the woman people are saying Angel had issues with appear – a strong personality would be more interesting than someone who constantly seeks comfort from her husband. Next week, Monique returns to Potomac, though it doesn’t seem like many people are excited about that storyline. See you next week!
Cherry Blossoms
Okay, I have to share – I’ve fallen completely down a rabbit hole watching old QVC clips featuring Stacey. Seriously, for the past week, I’ve found myself randomly shouting things like “Talk about length!”, “Talk about drama!”, “Talk about stones!”, and “Talk about comfort!” It’s completely bizarre, but Stacey’s presentations are just… captivating. I can’t explain it, but I’m obsessed!
I understand this is a work trip, but I really admire Wendy’s dedication – she’s still filming even with a sinus infection, which is more than I could handle. I’d prefer to get some antibiotics and rest instead, if possible.
The bachelorette party outfits were all over the place – some were creative and pulled off well, like Keiarna as a cowboy and Wendy as a dominatrix. Others, like Gizelle’s ringmaster and Stacey’s lederhosen, were… unusual but fit their personalities. Then there was Ashley, who dressed as an ‘Ass-stronaut’ and playfully licked chocolate off Jassi’s chest. While it’s great to see Ashley embracing her sexuality, it feels like that’s become her only topic of conversation, which is a little disappointing.
