Considering everything that happened this season, it’s hard to believe Gina dyed her son Nicky’s hair! Doesn’t he remember how bad her own hair used to look – the obvious extensions, awful wigs, and constantly growing-out, terrible haircuts? I mean, she’s his mom, but letting Travis, or even a random stranger, do it would have been a better idea. Still, I have to admit, he actually looks really cute with the platinum color, so maybe I was worried over nothing.
The self-defense exercise Gretchen arranged was pretty intense! She had the women experience simulated carjackings, and it didn’t go smoothly. Tamra and Gina were genuinely terrified when a large, not-very-convincing actor tried to mug them, and Tamra immediately blamed Gina. Then Shannon and Jenn went through the same drill, but surprisingly, Shannon was the calmest of everyone. It was shocking, considering Shannon usually panics over even small things – she often gets anxious just opening the fridge! No one could figure out how she handled the situation so well.
Gretchen Christine Beauté really stood out in this episode, but not in a good way, especially with her over-the-top Lara Croft-inspired outfit. Frankly, I don’t trust anything she says. Her claim that she just happened to look like the character while getting dressed feels dishonest – she clearly played it up. She seemed to think the outfit, with its belt, holsters, and excessively long ponytail, made her look tough, but she was being deliberately theatrical. Tamra immediately recognized what Gretchen was doing, realizing it was a calculated costume choice for attention.
I never liked Gretchen, and I’m even less impressed with her coming back. As Emily put it, she wishes she could travel back in time to prevent the drama between Gretchen and Tamra from ever happening, just to avoid this tedious conflict. That’s the core issue – I’m exhausted by revisiting old arguments. I’m really tired of her and Tamra forcing everyone to dwell on the past.
One of the most uncomfortable moments from the Obama years on this show happens when Gretchen and Slade revisit old drama. Gretchen brings up a rumor about Tamra allegedly having an affair with someone from a boy band. She points out the hypocrisy of Tamra criticizing other Housewives for singing, while Tamra herself was recording music. However, Gretchen isn’t just stating facts; she’s deliberately trying to embarrass Tamra by spreading this old gossip. The conversation delves into incredibly obscure territory – Gretchen is referencing a blog post from 2013 that almost no one remembers, not even the person who wrote it. They’ve moved far beyond well-known events like the ‘Naked Wasted Party’ and are now dissecting details so insignificant they feel completely irrelevant.
Gretchen just dug herself into a deeper hole, claiming she was trying to discuss the music, but blaming Slade for bringing up the affair. Honestly, we all saw the footage! It was clear she was eager to talk about it when she was having an affair. She’s now trying to deflect blame onto Slade. Gretchen says she wants to move on with Tamra, but keeps getting reminded of her past mistakes. Slade is even more blunt, admitting he’s still very upset about everything. Watching these two try to bring Tamra down is frustrating – they’re clearly not good at it, and nobody really cares. It’s almost comical how ineffective they are. Surprisingly, many fans already dislike Tamra, but Gretchen and Slade are so bad at their scheme that they can’t even rally support against her.
It’s been a tough season with few people to genuinely connect with, but Eddie Judge has remained consistently calm and supportive throughout everything. He confided in Tamra that he believes Gretchen is a truly negative person. He compared her to Shannon, pointing out that while Shannon can be a bit self-absorbed and eccentric, she’s generally good-hearted. Eddie described Gretchen, in his own words, as simply “evil.”
Everything unfolds at the women’s self-defense class. They split into smaller groups to discuss their recent experiences. The show’s producers strategically put Emily with Tamra and Jenn, knowing Emily tends to overshare. Emily brings up a song Tamra recorded with a boy band member, and Tamra explains they met when she was going through a separation from Simon and first dating Eddie. She says he had a home recording studio and it was all just lighthearted fun. This explanation seems to make sense, but then Emily drops a bombshell: she claims Gretchen and Slade told her Tamra was having an affair with the singer, and Tamra immediately gets angry.
Emily is spot on to call this out. Both Tamra and Gretchen are spreading old, hurtful rumors, but instead of focusing on the husbands, they’re attacking each other. Tamra at least admits her behavior is awful, while Gretchen constantly tries to make herself seem innocent. Frankly, if you’re going to confront someone, be direct – don’t talk behind their back and then try to blame others for your actions.
During lunch, Gretchen takes a shot, and Emily asks if it’s Fireball. Tamra jokes that Fireball makes people say outrageous things, and she strategically moves closer to Gretchen to ensure the cameras capture everything. Tamra’s a pro – she’s not afraid to confront the situation and make sure the producers get the footage. The group then discusses the story in detail, including the affair. Tamra blames her fiancé, Slade, for anything inappropriate said, claiming it was his fault. However, the others aren’t convinced. Emily and Heather remind everyone that they witnessed Gretchen starting the conversation, and even if Slade did say something foolish, Gretchen is equally responsible for allowing it to continue. She didn’t object, correct him, or indicate the information was off-limits. Ultimately, the responsibility for what Slade said also falls on her, and she can’t simply deflect the blame.
Gretchen claims she’s been holding back information about Tamra for years, implying she has some juicy secrets. When a producer pressed her for details, she refused to answer. The likely reason? People stopped confiding in Gretchen about Tamra a long time ago, as she hasn’t been a central figure in their lives for over a decade. Plus, the gossip she *does* have is incredibly outdated. It also seems there isn’t much new information to share. Tamra actually encouraged Gretchen to reveal things, but Gretchen declined – not out of loyalty to Tamra, but because she simply doesn’t have anything substantial to say.
Tamra loses it, flips Gretchen off, and prepares to leave in a rage. As they head out, they start rehashing old drama. Gretchen claims Tamra lied about her and had an affair with someone she previously sued and won against. Tamra counters that Gretchen was the one having an affair with that man and wasn’t being truthful about it, pointing out that photos of them kissing are available online. Gretchen insists the man she took to court and successfully proved was lying was a different person.
There’s a lot of hidden, disturbing history surrounding this show – details so scandalous they were never actually shown on TV. Instead, they were hinted at and revealed through arguments and gossip years later, fueled by people trying to profit off the drama. It’s all out there online and in the show’s past, but honestly, some things are better left forgotten. It’s a tangled web of messy and confusing events that don’t belong on a lighthearted TV show. I’m especially frustrated with Gretchen Rossi for resurfacing all of this while simultaneously acting innocent.
