In this week’s episode of our beloved series, “Wealthy Women at Work”, these affluent women indeed embarked on several activities. They admired the adorable charm of their son’s modeling shots, not just the photos but their portrayal within them. They observed as their little girl gracefully danced in her tutu during her ballet recital, preparing to take center stage. A famous designer was also invited over to discuss renovating their home, but his real intention seemed to be painting stripes on the cabana for a potential high-end party in the future.
Primarily, it appears these women often found themselves engaging in altercations at The Viper Room, a renowned Los Angeles establishment co-founded by Johnny Depp and immortalized in Hollywood folklore following the tragic death of River Phoenix after a night there. Ironically, none of them, including L.A. native and ’80s sensation Kyle Richards, had ever previously visited The Viper Room, although Garcelle did share a kiss with Johnny Depp at a different club years ago. One wonders if Garcelle had any romantic encounters or connections with figures like Andy Dick in the past; could there be a story waiting to be uncovered about a brief engagement between them?
Previously, we’re required to sit through some lengthy, somewhat dull personal episodes involving certain female characters. Boz takes Keely, a very attractive long-distance boyfriend, out on a date. They visit Malibu and enjoy a meticulously organized picnic on the beach. It feels like my high-definition TV may be displaying the weather, as I was chilly watching them discuss their relationship on that windy beach. Perhaps the coldness wasn’t just from the wind; it might have been due to their interaction. Something about the mood felt off. The entire scene seemed overly formal, as if they had chosen each other based on logic rather than feelings. I believe we need more insight. While the verdict is still out on Keely, he does show potential.
Garcelle brought along two of her sons, her affectionately nicknamed grandson OJ, and one of her son’s companions to her beach residence for dinner. It’s wonderful to see Garcelle thriving, truly it is. I do hope she keeps pushing boundaries, challenging herself in new ways. Admittedly, the air of constant success can feel a bit monotonous at times. Yet, I wouldn’t dare wish hardship or misfortune upon Garcelle. However, when she recounts the harrowing tale of her oldest son, Oliver, struggling with addiction and attempting to break into her house while she merely watched, well, that story is heart-wrenching, and it nearly brought a tear to my eye. Perhaps I should just step back and allow Garcelle to enjoy her time at the beach.
Ever since Garcelle and Sutton have been a dynamic duo on the show, I’ve really enjoyed witnessing the blossoming friendship between Dorit and Boz. As Boz puts it, Dorit loves to chat and he enjoys listening, which makes their conversations more rewarding than ours. Recently, Boz paid a visit to Dorit at her Surely Foreclosed Manor to discuss the lengthy therapy session she had with her soon-to-be ex-husband, PK, the unexpected STD analogy. During their talk, Dorit shared that PK was being harsh towards her in this session and expressed his desire for a divorce. It seemed like Dorit held on to hopes of reconciliation between them, but wasn’t that put to rest during their prior dinner?
Previously, I haven’t been a great admirer of Dorit, as my frequent readers may recall, but her current season performance is impressive. This is due to the fact that she appears to be handling everything honestly. As she has stated, she’s tired of being belittled and mistreated, and she’s tired of granting forgiveness merely for the sake of getting along. She’s standing up to Camille Grammer, claiming she’s seeking attention, she’s challenging Sutton, saying she’s unbalanced, and she’s confronting PK, the grandson of Nosferatu, about his aggressive and erratic behavior. One wonders how many Beverly Hills secrets Dorit has been concealing all these years and why she wasn’t more visible before?
In the realm of cinema, it feels like I’m watching two completely different movies when it comes to my friends’ divorces. While Kyle seems stuck in a never-ending courtroom drama, her ex Mauricio still clings to hopes of reconciliation or a fair settlement based on a single quote from his book. It’s as if she’s expecting him to play by the rules of a romance film instead of reality.
On the other hand, my friend is handling her divorce like a seasoned professional. After PK (the unexpected package that showed up at her doorstep), she stormed out of therapy and braced herself for the inevitable storm. She understands that his erratic behavior might lead to trouble, and she’s preparing for it as if it were an impending hurricane.
Given Kyle’s current situation, I can’t help but think she could learn a thing or two from my friend. Perhaps reaching out to Dorit for advice on navigating this stormy sea of divorce might be wise.
The primary point of disagreement between the two individuals concerns Kyle continuing to send memes to PK, who owns a haunted porta-potty. In real-life divorces where friends remain close to both parties, there is often a preference, and it can be unexpected that it isn’t always the first friend they had. I suspect Kyle leans towards PK, much like a Pepsi challenge with no winners, because she appreciates him more and finds him amusing. Moreover, I believe she expects to reconcile with Mo, who is friends with PK, making him an integral part of her life. This is likely why she maintains the meme exchange with him.
Instead of dwelling in the real world, these individuals seem to be more active on our television screens, participating in reality shows. Consequently, Kyle might find himself drawn towards Dorit due to their continued proximity. While under normal circumstances, exchanging memes with Dorit may not appear problematic, Kyle must consider the potential complications if their divorce escalates into a heated battle. As Dorit hints, it would be risky for Kyle to maintain communication with his ex, as he might unintentionally provide information that could later be used against her in court. Therefore, in this specific situation, Kyle should reconsider sending further messages to that explosive entity.
The situation reaches a climax when they arrive at the Viper Room for a Pride party hosted by a marketing company, where Erika is premiering her new song “Dominoes.” Interestingly, this track has no connection to pizza delivery. (A missed chance.) Kesha is present, despite lacking both money and Pink’s presence, due to her friendship with Kyle. Well, that explains it.
In an unusual turn of events, Sutton engages in a conversation with Boz, as she takes issue with Boz’s use of the term “weaponize” to describe Sutton’s actions towards Dorit at Kyle’s Bucking Bronco party. If you don’t like the word, Sutton, perhaps you should reconsider using things shared in confidence against someone in such a manner.
Sutton argues that she didn’t intend to harm Dorit with her words, but Boz counters by stating that indeed she did, and she never acknowledged this or offered an apology.
As a film enthusiast, I must admit, things take a turn for the worse when they all gather around the table. Kyle and Dorit seem to lock horns over Kyle’s group-chat meme antics, and Dorit brings up her current predicament with her ex, stating that it’s tough on them, especially since they share two young children who are unaware of their separation. Sutton chimes in, suggesting that Dorit can’t conceal this from the kids forever, which rings true. If Dorit’s main issue with PK is his lack of communication, a man I’ve almost grown tired of describing in a distasteful manner, then it appears to be an own goal and one she could easily rectify by sitting the kids down for that difficult conversation. While Sutton’s input is valid, at this juncture, she might want to hold her tongue and let these seasoned individuals delve deeper into the matter.
The situation allows Dorit to discuss the inaccuracy of Sutton’s assertion that she’s always available for conversation. While Sutton maintains she’s present and supportive, her actions don’t align with this statement, as both Erika and Boz observe during their conversation at the table. Erika even suggests in a private moment that Sutton follows a pattern, targeting people like Erika at their most vulnerable moments, and then repeating similar behavior towards others, such as Kyle and Dorit. Erika goes on to say that Sutton’s claims of friendship are more like a facade than a genuine Walmart bag imitating a Birkin. However, Sutton suddenly changes her stance, asserting that they aren’t friends at all and will only be civil towards Dorit in the future. This inconsistency between Sutton’s words and actions is exactly what the rest of the group frequently talks about, as Sutton seems to present herself one way but behaves differently, revealing her true self.
The main conflict in this reality show isn’t between Sutton and Dorit, it’s actually between Kyle and Dorit. While Kyle admits to ignoring memes from @BritishHumourDaily sent by Mr. Kemsley, she continues to speak down to Dorit without considering the possibility of a misunderstanding or explanation. This highlights yet another instance where Kyle seems to be held to different standards than others, and it’s understandable why Dorit calls Kyle out for speaking harshly when she is in the wrong. Essentially, Dorit serves as a truth-teller, exposing the underlying issues within the group and cutting through the show’s superficiality.
As the night progresses at the Viper Room, filled with the scent of aged bourbon, lingering spirits, and a mix of Housewives and men in mesh tank tops, the show abruptly ends, leaving us guessing about the resolution of this argument, which will continue next week. Although the fight may appear insignificant, having little bearing on anything, it is the most captivating aspect of the show for us viewers.
