This week on Rich Women Doing Things, the ladies were, well, doing things! The episode featured a comparison of their incredibly expensive Birkin bags – some costing $32,000, others $30,000, and even one at $14,000 – leaving viewers to wonder what justified the price differences. We also saw them shopping for wedding gifts at a high-end china store, despite not having fully planned the wedding itself – because being effortlessly wealthy means you don’t need to plan. The episode took a turn when they hosted a cocktail party and hired nude male models. The art session wasn’t a success, but one model spent the entire time with his rear end exposed and eventually ended up naked in the pool, needing to be politely asked to leave by a frazzled party planner.
The wealthy women on the show mostly just wanted honesty. They were grateful to Kyle for finally acknowledging what they saw was real, admitting there was truth to the rumors, and even hinting at why she couldn’t discuss it openly. They felt they could figure out the details if given a basic framework, instead of being treated as if they were unreasonable for asking about her life. This frustration was evident in the first scene with Boz and Rachel, where Boz visited Rachel’s rental. Rachel immediately sensed Kyle’s unwillingness to discuss her dating life, and Boz agreed they shouldn’t even speculate. Later, Boz explained that Kyle needed to either fully deny the situation or acknowledge it, as they could never get a straight answer.
Eventually, Kyle and Erika found themselves sitting on her back porch in rocking chairs, reminiscent of an old Bartles and Jaymes commercial – around the time a new friend, Amanda, was born. Kyle wanted to finally resolve everything, so he started by asking Erika if she was in a relationship where her partner preferred to keep it private. He asked if she’d compromise that person’s privacy just to satisfy public curiosity. Erika replied that she would protect that person’s privacy. I get why she’d feel that way, but honestly, we weren’t looking for juicy details – we just wanted her to acknowledge what was obvious and confirm that we weren’t imagining things.
Kyle insists she’s always been truthful, and generally she has been throughout the show, even if she hasn’t always shared everything. She’s now stating she’s currently single and explains she fell deeply in love with someone during a difficult time. She admits they dated and it was a real relationship with strong feelings. While she wanted to openly discuss it, this person – whose name sounds like “Morgan Spade” – didn’t want the public attention. Kyle claims the pressure of being in the public eye ultimately ended the relationship. She’s sharing this while sporting a new look – a blazer, a delicate tie, and wavy hair – which the author playfully describes as very lesbian-coded, comparing it to Kristen Stewart’s style. The author jokingly wonders if this is Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or The L Word, and adds that Kyle is embracing this aesthetic so fully that even her drawings of men end up looking feminine, like a character from Titanic with freshly manicured nails.
I felt really sorry for Kyle in that moment. We’re only hearing one side of the story, so things might not be as they seem, but it sounds like she was deeply in love and wanted to share her relationship with the world, but Schmorgan wouldn’t allow it. Over the past few seasons, Kyle seemed to be trying to balance her personal life with the demands of being on a reality show, and those two things just didn’t mesh. It wasn’t that she prioritized the show over her girlfriend, but it feels like her girlfriend made the decision for both of them, and I genuinely feel bad for Kyle because she seemed to want the relationship to continue and still has strong feelings for this person.
It’s strange that she still seems to have feelings for both of her ex-husbands. While it’s nice to see Kyle and Mauricio getting along, things feel awkward when she visits Mauricio, bringing him things and telling him to stop being photographed with other women – which he continues to do anyway. She claims Mauricio moved into a rental with the understanding they’d discuss their future, but he then bought a house without telling her, leaving her feeling like she deserved a conversation about potentially getting back together. Honestly, it seems pretty clear to me that she and Mauricio are done. He’s moved on and is already publicly dating someone else, which feels much more definitive than his current, very public relationship.
So, Kyle just casually told Mo she’s “single,” and it seems he thinks that means she and Morgan are officially over. Her reaction was…weird. She made this face like it was crazy that her husband would even ask if she was seeing anyone. Look, I’m open to different relationship styles, but I honestly don’t get what Kyle and Morgan are doing. They need to decide what they want! Are they back together after a long break, or are they really done? I guess there’s a possibility they’re trying some kind of open relationship, but I can’t picture Kyle being into that. Honestly, this limbo feels really unhealthy. It’s like everyone’s just stuck, unhappy and going nowhere – even if that ‘nowhere’ involves making out with every available Bachelor contestant for Instagram followers or suddenly becoming obsessed with country music. It’s just… messy.
This episode featured a surprising amount of openness. Newcomer Amanda readily admitted she’s significantly younger than the rest of the group. Boz and her daughter, Leal, were honest about Leal’s feelings regarding her mother’s relationship with Kealy. Even Dorit confessed to liking a bracelet that everyone else disliked. I was particularly struck by Erika’s candid conversation with Sutton about her and Tom’s relationship, especially considering their usual animosity. Erika shared her internal struggle, wondering if Tom would even recognize her and acknowledging that she needs to create her own closure rather than waiting for it. She seemed both resigned and weary, as if this situation will never truly be resolved.
Dorit is openly discussing the difficult situation with her husband, whom she describes as unpleasant and radiating negativity. She’s revealed that her children are sensing the tension and unhappiness between their parents, even though they aren’t aware of the divorce proceedings. Dorit is attempting to shield them by sending them to Florida to stay with her parents for a while, but her husband is preventing the visit, seemingly just to cause her pain.
The conversation turns to PK, with everyone criticizing his behavior towards Dorit and his lack of support. Kyle attempts to offer a solution, but Dorit dismisses it, believing PK is intentionally trying to cause her pain. Kyle waffles, unsure if PK’s motives are malicious, which frustrates viewers who fear a repeat of last season’s drama. Kyle explains she’s hesitant to speak badly about someone she knows, but others point out she needs to pick a side – either support Dorit and acknowledge PK’s faults, or remain silent. Erika, familiar with PK from past controversies, aligns with the group’s negative view of him.
Kyle was trying to find a middle ground, but he realized that being a good friend doesn’t mean blindly supporting someone’s bad choices, especially when it comes to relationships. You can offer advice, but once your friend makes a decision, you need to support them. Kyle, however, struggles to do that with Dorit, particularly when she consistently chooses her ex, PK, despite how problematic he is. Dorit’s loyalty to him seems similar to her past attachment to Mo – she just can’t seem to let go of the past. Kyle is admitting that her own relationship is over and she regrets her divorce, but defending Dorit’s awful ex won’t fix things. Instead, Kyle is left feeling lost and wondering what went wrong, realizing she’s the one who caused her own problems. There are no easy fixes, no sudden revelations. It’s just Kyle, alone on her porch, endlessly replaying the past and stuck in her own thoughts.
