The Paul Brothers Are Returning to the Ring (Light)

The YouTube personalities crave the spotlight. The siblings, combatants, and online influencers Jake and Logan Paul stirred up a bit of commotion this past week by releasing a promotional video suggesting they were about to engage in a fight in the ring. Given their origins on social media, one might wonder if authenticity was ever a priority for them. The new reality show, “Paul American,” airing on Max, chronicles their escapades, including Jake’s upcoming bout against Mike Tyson. Both brothers have amassed an impressive array of accomplishments since their debut on Vine in 2013, with their current roles as professional boxers and fighters. Jake had a stint on the Disney Channel series “Bizaardvark” and established Team 10, a group of fellow YouTubers who gave their rivals a run for their money. Logan too transitioned to YouTube following the demise of Vine, but after several scandals, he moved on to create the sports/energy drink Prime and his own podcast, each with their unique set of challenges.

In the sneak peek of “Paul American,” there’s no attempt at concealing the conflicts surrounding the brothers. Jake boldly asserted, pouting his lips, “I’m unstoppable.” To which Logan retorted, “We’ll see about that, bro!” The series invites audiences to get acquainted with the Paul family, as they present them in their supposed true form. The exact meaning of this remains to be seen. Tune in on Max on March 27 to find out.
