As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Shadow Labyrinth has me absolutely thrilled! I’ve been following Pac-Man since his humble arcade beginnings and to see such a bold reimagining for his 45th anniversary is truly exciting. The darker, Hollow Knight-esque take on this classic character piques my curiosity and I can’t wait to explore the mysterious labyrinths in this game.
For Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary next year, Bandai Namco is venturing into uncharted territory with Shadow Labyrinth. This announcement was made at The Game Awards. Unlike the traditional family-friendly arcade game we know, Shadow Labyrinth offers a much more ominous spin on the franchise that seems to draw influence from games like Hollow Knight and Ori and the Blind Forest. This upcoming title is set to be released on PC, Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2025, with pre-orders already available for the physical Switch and PS5 versions at Amazon and Best Buy. Multiple editions are up for grabs, including a limited Secret Edition that comes with additional goodies.
Shadow Labyrinth Preorder Bonuses
Pre-ordering from Best Buy grants access to the “Original Arcade Sound FX” digital bonus. Whether this is exclusive to Best Buy or if it will be offered by other retailers when preorders are available elsewhere remains uncertain.
