As a seasoned horror game enthusiast who’s braved countless nightmares in my gaming career, I can’t help but feel a shiver of anticipation down my spine as The Outlast Trials gears up for its latest update on December 10th. Project Breach promises to be a chilling addition to the already terrifying world of Murkoff Facility, with a new villain, Amelia, who’s not just another faceless monster but a vengeful survivor with a haunting backstory.
In its upcoming free update on December 10, The Outlast Trials is set to introduce a new antagonist named Amelia, as well as additional maps, missions, and more. This new character, Amelia, offers a unique backstory compared to the game’s other major bosses. She joins the existing trio of formidable foes: Mother Gooseberry, Franco Barbi, and Sergeant Coyle. In this update, Mother Gooseberry remains as gruesome as ever, Franco Barbi continues his infantilized mafioso ways, and Sergeant Coyle, with aspirations similar to the Stanford Prison Experiment, completes the initial roster of adversaries.
Initially, Amelia experienced the same ordeals as the game protagonists, only to break free. However, instead of fleeing, she returns with a thirst for vengeance. Unfortunately, it appears she doesn’t discriminate between targets once she arrives.
The latest map is named Downtown and stands out due to its prominent Trial, or main objective, titled “The Prosecutor’s Pleasure”. In addition to this main mission, lasting about 45 minutes for a team of four on normal difficulty, there will also be two fresh side missions within the Downtown map. For those eager for new equipment, the game introduces its sixth class/cooldown ability alongside Project Breach. This new ability is called “The Jammer”, but the developers at Red Barrels have not yet revealed how it functions.
Additionally starting on December 10th, Project Breach is joined by a special limited-time event titled Winter Kills. This event presents holiday-themed challenges for players to conquer and rewards them with an array of new character and Sleep Room cosmetics. What’s more, you can don your festive Christmas pajamas while battling through the bloodstained, rustic corridors of the Murkoff Facility. It seems even in such a grim setting, there’s still magic in the air during the holiday season.
All of this begins on December 10 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms.
