The Official Spy x Family Burger Finally Lands in the U.S.

A special hamburger, originally created in Japan and based on a popular anime character, is now available at a Texas burger chain. This marks the first time fans in the United States can officially try the unique sandwich.

Trill Burgers is teaming up with the popular anime Spy x Family to offer a special burger and exclusive merchandise. The Spy x Family burger is a classic Trill Burgers “smashburger” – two beef patties grilled to create a flavorful, caramelized crust. It’s topped with American cheese, pickles, sour cream, beef stew, and a fried egg. You can get it starting Saturday, December 13th, at Trill Burgers’ Shepherd and Louetta locations. Trill Burgers owners Bun B and Andy Nguyen shared details about the collaboration in a recent Instagram video (see below).

Spy x Family’s Iconic Hamburger Makes U.S. Debut

The “Spy x Family” burger was inspired by a scene in the anime. In the episode, Yor tries to recreate a beef stew her mother used to make for her and her brother, Yuri, but she’s a terrible cook. Loid and Anya bravely eat the resulting dish to avoid hurting her feelings.

Alongside the special burger, fans of Spy x Family can also choose from two exclusive Spy x Familythemed t-shirts. The shirts feature a design on the back showing Anya, Loid, Yor, and Bond the dog. Both shirts have the Trill Burgers and Spy x Family logos on the front. According to Bun B, the shirts come in a tan color and a dark grey. He said in a statement that this collaboration is very important for Trill Burgers, and they’re excited to share this unique experience with Spy x Family* fans worldwide.

The story of Spy x Family began as a digital comic on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform in March 2019. Combining action, humor, and heartwarming family moments, it quickly gained a huge following around the world. The anime adaptation, produced by Cloverworks (The Promised Neverland) and Wit Studio (Attack on Titan), premiered in April 2022. Now, three years later, Spy x Family is a top title from Shonen Jump. The related movie has earned over $54 million worldwide. Currently, the anime’s third season is airing and is scheduled to finish later this month.
