Good news for fans of The Night Agent: filming for season 4 has begun! Netflix has already renewed the popular action thriller for two more seasons after the success of its first. Although season 3 hasn’t been released yet, filming wrapped up on it in July 2025.
According to Deadline, Netflix is planning to film a potential fourth season of The Night Agent in Los Angeles and has secured a $31.6 million California tax credit to help cover the costs. Although Netflix hasn’t officially announced a renewal yet, the tax credit, along with an already assembled writing team, strongly suggests the show will continue.
I’m so excited for the future of The Night Agent! The first season was filmed in Vancouver, and seasons two and three moved production to New York City. I heard the plan was always to take the show to LA for season four, but it depended on getting a tax credit. Now that they’ve secured it, it feels like season four in LA is really going to happen, and I can’t wait to see what they do with it!

The first season of The Night Agent ended with a big unresolved plot point that will carry over into season 3. A significant change for the next season is that Luciane Buchanan, who played Rose Larkin, won’t be returning. As for a potential season 4, it’s too early to say what it might involve, as season 3 hasn’t even been released yet.
Season 4 of the show will be set in Los Angeles, bringing creator Shawn Ryan back to a familiar location. Ryan’s previous hits, like The Shield, The Unit, and S.W.A.T., were all filmed there. While the reason for Gabriel Basso’s character, Peter Sutherland, going to California isn’t yet known, the show’s move to the West Coast seems definite.
Okay, so as of right now, we’re still waiting on a release date for season 3 of The Night Agent, but the buzz is it’ll probably hit screens sometime in 2026. What I’m really excited about is the cast is growing! They’ve added David Lyons, Jennifer Morrison, Stephen Moyer, Genesis Rodriguez, and Callum Vinson as regular characters, though they’re keeping their roles a secret for now. Thankfully, we’ll also be seeing some of our favorite characters from season 2 return, which is great news!
While Netflix hasn’t officially announced a fourth season of The Night Agent, a recent tax credit strongly suggests that one is in the works. It’s unclear if we’ll get an official announcement before or after season 3 airs, but securing the tax credit makes it very likely the show will continue.
