More than a year after initially filing a lawsuit, Blake Lively’s legal dispute with her It Ends with Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, and his production company is still ongoing. The case is scheduled to go to trial soon, and recently unsealed legal documents have revealed some potentially damaging evidence. According to these documents, Jenny Slate, another star of It Ends with Us, reportedly shared negative opinions about Baldoni in text messages.
According to messages obtained by People, Jenny Slate was unhappy with her co-star, Justin Baldoni, during the promotion of It Ends with Us. She reportedly asked her team to ensure she wouldn’t have to participate in any joint interviews or events with him. Slate also expressed her concerns to Jamey Heath, the CEO of Wayfarer Studios, Baldoni’s production company.
I want to avoid Justin completely – I don’t want to discuss him at all. The same applies to Jamey Heath, who consistently acts unprofessionally.
According to Slate, the atmosphere on set was deeply unpleasant and unsettling, and she isn’t alone in feeling that way. She previously voiced support for Blake Lively after Lively raised concerns, and now states that both she and Lively directly complained about the problematic conditions. Slate continued to express her strong disapproval of Baldoni’s behavior.
I strongly believe Justin is disingenuous and doesn’t genuinely support feminist principles. I’m not comfortable supporting the way he presents himself as a ‘male feminist’ because I think it’s completely misleading. I’ve rarely encountered someone so hypocritical.

Justin Baldoni Explained Why Blake Lively Apparently Called Her Home Office ‘Buckingham Palace’
Blake Lively initially claimed that Jason Baldoni sexually harassed her on set and that he then used a public relations firm to damage her reputation. Baldoni denied these claims and sued The New York Times for defamation after they reported on Lively’s accusations. Lively then sued Baldoni, and he responded with a $400 million countersuit against her, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and others, alleging defamation and extortion. However, in June 2025, Baldoni’s lawsuit was dismissed – a significant win for Lively – and he also dropped his suit against The New York Times.
With more details becoming public before the Baldoni/Lively trial, we’re learning new things. For example, a report from November 2025 claims Ryan Reynolds confronted Baldoni about allegedly making unkind comments about Lively’s appearance. Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman were reportedly also there, and Baldoni supposedly became emotional during the conversation.
Newly released documents offer more details about the texts reportedly exchanged by Jenny Slate, and they also reveal Blake Lively’s concerns about a birthing scene in the film It Ends With Us. According to TMZ, Lively felt the scene was “violative and humiliating” because she was positioned with her legs spread and minimal clothing, exposing her genitals. She reportedly disagreed with suggestions from Justin Baldoni and Jamey Heath that she perform the scene nude.
Blake Lively’s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni is scheduled for a court hearing on May 18, 2026. A nearer hearing is planned for January 22nd. It’s also uncertain if any additional details will become public if more court documents are released.
