Get ready for more intrigue, suspense, and shocking twists in the next season of the popular Netflix crime series! Following the success of the previous installment, based on May Cobb’s bestselling book, star Brittany Snow hinted that another season was in the works. Now, Netflix has officially confirmed that production has begun.
Netflix’s Tudum announced that Season 2 of The Hunting Wives is currently being filmed. They shared a photo showing a wig belonging to Margo (played by Malin Akerman) sitting on its own chair alongside the chairs for Margo and Sophie (Brittany Snow).
Karen Rodriguez and Hunter Emery, who play Deputy Salazar and Deputy Flynn respectively, will now be series regulars in Season 2 of The Hunting Wives. Branton Box, guest starring as Sheriff Jonny—Callie’s husband—will also be joining the cast.
The Hunting Wives Ends Season 1 on a Cliffhanger
In the movie The Hunting Wives, Brittany Snow plays Sophie, a woman who moves to East Texas with her family. She quickly becomes friends with Margo (Malin Akerman), the wife of wealthy oilman Jed Banks (Dermot Mulroney), and soon finds herself caught up in the secrets and conflicts of the town.
The first season concludes with several major unresolved plot points, leaving viewers uncertain about what Season 2 will bring. Key questions remain about who was responsible for Abby’s death, and the future of Margo and Sophie’s relationship.
Chloe Snow mentioned on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that filming for season two of The Hunting Wives would start “in two weeks.” While that timeline passed, production has now officially begun.
Sophie and Margo aren’t speaking after a falling out. However, they’ll have to team up again when past secrets and new enemies emerge. As they navigate a web of danger, it becomes unclear whether they are the ones in control or being targeted.
The show continues the story started in May Cobb’s novel. Executive producer Rebecca Cutter shared her enthusiasm, saying, “I’m thrilled to revisit these compelling characters and take viewers on another wild, suspenseful, and provocative journey through Maple Brook.”
The Netflix series The Hunting Wives was a hit, appearing on the global Top 10 list for five weeks and boosting sales of the original book. The novel quickly rose to become a bestseller on Amazon, reaching number four overall and topping the charts in the women’s psychological fiction category.
Season 1 of The Hunting Wives is now streaming on Netflix.
