As a die-hard fan here, it’s looking like Ryan Gosling might just be the one to pilot Shawn Levy’s upcoming “Star Wars” flick! According to recent reports from The Hollywood Reporter, discussions are underway for Gosling to lead the director of “Deadpool” and “Wolverine,” Shawn Levy, in his yet-to-be-titled film for the franchise. This film, it seems, won’t be linked to the Skywalker Saga, but rather stand as its own story.
The details are still scant, but we do know that Jonathan Tropper, who collaborated with Levy on “The Adam Project,” is penning the screenplay, and both Levy and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy will produce via 21 Laps and Lucasfilm respectively. As for when this story might take place, well, that’s still a mystery!
The fact that the project isn’t entirely new doesn’t change the fact that it has been in development since 2022. According to THR, if talks with Ryan Gosling result in a deal, it might begin filming this fall. Let’s hope we learn more about the movie’s plot and cast members soon! We’ll keep you posted as additional details become available, but for now, we can only speculate based on Gosling’s reported interest.
