Unlocking drone quickly in Slime Rancher 2
If you enjoyed the original Slime Rancher, released nearly ten years ago, you probably appreciate how useful drones are. The sequel, Slime Rancher 2, has now officially launched after a period in Early Access, bringing all of its features to life. This highly-rated game now includes even more content, with drones – a popular feature from the first game – making a return. Want to know how to get your hands on one quickly?
To begin your drone journey, you’ll first need to find a Ghastly Drone. These drones wander around the world, but they most reliably appear in The Conservatory, specifically in The Den, Archway, or Gully. When you find one, it will give you a Drone Station Module. This module is essential for using drones, but it’s only the first step. You’ll also need to gather some additional resources to get them working.

You can build a Quantum Drone Station – which lets you control drones – once you’ve collected all the necessary items and assembled them at the Fabricator.
Drones have two settings: Rancher and Explorer. When kept inside the Conservatory, the Rancher setting lets the drone care for your slimes, garden, and perform other tasks it’s been programmed to do. If you take the drone outside the Conservatory, it switches to Explorer mode and will gather resources for you. Remember to keep it fueled by feeding it plorts! Have fun.
