Kadokawa’s latest financial report confirms that FromSoftware is still on track to release both The Duskbloods and Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The report also indicates that FromSoftware is working on several other games that haven’t been publicly announced yet, suggesting we’ll likely hear about new titles in the future.
The Duskbloods is a game coming exclusively to the next Nintendo Switch console. It started as a simple idea presented to Nintendo by Hidetaka Miyazaki, the creator of Dark Souls. The game combines player-versus-player and player-versus-environment combat, with a strong focus on online multiplayer, while still capturing the challenging and rewarding gameplay that fans expect from FromSoftware’s Souls series.
I’m really getting into The Duskbloods! The main characters are called Bloodsworn, and they’re basically like vampires – they’ve gained incredible powers through special blood. They’re all fighting for something called “First Blood,” which apparently happens when humanity is on its last legs – this event is called the “Twilight of Humanity.” It’s not set in one specific time or place, but the world is awesome – it’s got a lot of classic Gothic and Victorian vibes, mixed with settings that feel like the end of the early modern period. It’s a really cool mix!
The Nintendo Switch 2 will get Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition in 2026. Originally slated for a 2025 release, the game needed more development time to ensure it runs smoothly. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition bundles together the original game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. It also includes new options to customize the look of your spectral steed, Torrent.
