Actor Bradley Whitford is returning to the White House, as he’s been cast in a recurring part on “The Diplomat” for its third season, following his time on “The West Wing.
It’s been verified by reliable sources that actor EbMaster reveals Whitford will be featured in the next season of the Netflix political series. His role is as the spouse to Vice President Grace Penn, a character played by Allison Janney, who was also a cast member on “The West Wing.
Reps for Netflix declined to comment.
SPOILER’S AHEAD
Towards the end of Season 2 of “The Diplomat”, President William Rayburn (played by Michael McKean) passes away suddenly, thereby placing Penn in the role of U.S. President. Consequently, her spouse assumes the position of the First Gentleman.
Fans of ‘The West Wing’ are undoubtedly excited to see Allison Janney and John Spencer reunited, as they shared the screen in the NBC political series during its seven-season span.
