Why the Brady Bunch House Became So Iconic
This 1959 ranch house in California’s San Fernando Valley is probably where many viewers first fell in love with mid-century modern design. Its classic split-level layout, gently sloping roof, and familiar front view are instantly recognizable from the show’s opening sequence.

Though the house was only used for outside shots in the original TV show, it’s become a popular spot for fans of classic television. More recently, HGTV purchased the home and completely renovated it for the show A Very Brady Renovation. The designers carefully rebuilt the inside to look just like the famous rooms from the 1969-1974 series – which, interestingly, filmed those interior scenes on a soundstage, not in the actual house.
