The Boys Video Game Could Happen, But Maybe Not How You Expect

Eric Kripke, the creator of the hit Amazon series The Boys, has announced that a video game based on the show is in development. While the initial game won’t be released on consoles, Kripke hopes a console version will be possible in the future.

We’re exploring the possibility of a console game, but nothing is confirmed yet. I can’t share too many details at this point, but we are working on other video games that won’t be limited to Xbox or PlayStation.

While characters from The Boys have shown up in games like Call of Duty and Mortal Kombat, a standalone game based on the series hasn’t been released yet.

The popular TV series The Boys, which started as a comic book, is available on Prime Video. It has already led to one spin-off, Gen V, and another, The Boys: Mexico, is currently being developed. Plus, a prequel series called Vought Rising, set in the 1950s, is also on the way.

Honestly, this series feels made to be a video game. There are so many awesome characters with crazy powers, and the whole quirky, funny vibe? I think a lot of gamers would really dig that.

Amazon, the streaming home of The Boys, is a major force in video games, but it’s unclear which company will publish any games based on the series. Sony helps produce the show itself.

Now that Gen V’s second season has finished, it sets the stage for the fifth and last season of The Boys. While we don’t know exactly when it will come out, it’s currently predicted to be released in 2026.
