The Batman 2 has added a huge MCU star to the cast of the DC movie.
The Batman 2, the follow-up to the 2023 film, is currently planned for release in 2027. Matt Reeves is directing, and Robert Pattinson will return as Batman/Bruce Wayne.
Who has joined the cast of The Batman 2?
Scarlett Johansson is reportedly in discussions to appear in the next Batman movie, according to a trustworthy source, Nexus Point News.
Details about the character Johansson will play are currently being kept secret. However, reports suggest she might be a new love interest for Bruce Wayne. Sources say she could portray one of several characters, including Andrea Beaumont (The Phantasm), Pamela Isley (Poison Ivy), Vicki Vale, or Julie Madison.
DC Studios is being very secretive about the plot of The Batman 2, so it will probably be a while before we find out exactly what role Johansson will play in the film.
According to Nexus Point News, Zoe Kravitz likely won’t return as Catwoman in the next Batman film. Jeff Sneider of InSneider’s previously stated she’s not involved and has no information about the project.
Scarlett Johansson is famous for her role as Black Widow in the Marvel films. Recently, she’s appeared in movies like Asteroid City (2023) and Fly Me to the Moon (2024), and has upcoming projects including The Phoenician Scheme and Jurassic World Rebirth, both releasing in 2025. She’s likely to return for a follow-up to Jurassic World Rebirth, and she’s also joining the cast of a new Exorcist film directed by Mike Flanagan.
Filming for The Batman 2 is scheduled to start next year, with the movie currently planned to hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
