Although Margot Robbie’s character in *Barbie* didn’t share a kiss with Ryan Gosling, her upcoming 2025 film will feature romantic scenes with Colin Farrell. However, one particular kiss scene proved a bit awkward to film. Just before they shot the scene, Colin Farrell fed Margot Robbie a large portion of shepherd’s pie, which created a pretty uncomfortable moment for everyone involved!
The new fantasy romance film, *A Big Bold Beautiful Journey*, looks incredibly romantic in its trailer – full of longing looks, tender hand-holding, and a lovely kiss. Interestingly, the actors have said that filming a kiss is much easier when everyone has good breath!

I was eating the shepherd’s pie quickly, and he was surprised, asking if I really had to eat it at that moment. I jokingly replied that I’d have gum instead, so he didn’t need to worry.
Offering your romantic lead a meat pie right before a kiss probably isn’t a good idea for a movie! But honestly, shepherd’s pie is just too delicious to resist. I’m really wondering if the gum actually worked, though!
Luckily, it seems Margot Robbie’s breath – playfully described as smelling like shepherd’s pie – didn’t bother the Academy Award nominee, who called their kiss on the BBC radio show “a very cozy kiss.” Since the actor from *The Banshees of Inisherin* made the pie, it’s funny to think he might have subconsciously put that homemade feeling into the kiss.
Kissing scenes might seem sweet and romantic when you’re watching them, but the actors involved sometimes have a different experience! Lori Loughlin from *Full House* shared that her co-star, John Stamos, often ate Doritos and smoked a cigar right before filming a kiss. She admitted that kind of breath definitely wouldn’t set a romantic mood for her.
Liam Hemsworth shared on *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* that his *Hunger Games* co-star, Jennifer Lawrence, would often eat strong-smelling foods like garlic or tuna before they had to film kiss scenes. He joked that he would have quickly grabbed breath mints or gum to prepare.
I was so charmed to hear about what Margot Robbie discovered while filming with Colin Farrell! Apparently, he’s a fantastic cook – she even found out he makes a mean shepherd’s pie! But that’s not all; she said he has this incredible energy, she playfully called him ‘The New Zac Efron’! She got a real surprise seeing him perform a full song and dance routine for their movie, showing a side of him I don’t think many people get to see.
