I was especially fascinated by the featurette called “Making Things Freakier.” The director, Nisha Ganatra, talked about filming that wild car chase scene with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan – you know, when they’re stuck in each other’s bodies and tearing around L.A. in Jake’s car. She was explaining how they actually shot it, and it sounded pretty crazy!
Even the professionals from the Fast and the Furious team—our stunt coordinator and performers—were amazed by Jamie Lee Curtis’s driving skills. When we put Lindsay Lohan in the car with her, it seemed like Lindsay wasn’t acting scared; she genuinely was terrified.
Surprisingly, Jamie Lee Curtis actually performed some of her own stunts in *Freakier Friday*, and was even listed as a stunt driver! Her stunt double, Jennifer Caputo, previously worked on the first *Fast & Furious* film, which is known for its demanding driving stunts. The fact that they allowed the 66-year-old actress to do some of the driving herself highlights her skill, especially considering reports that she was considered one of the best they’d ever seen.
Ganatra mentioned that Lindsay Lohan was occasionally in the car too, and was actually quite scared of Curtis’s reckless driving.
