After twelve episodes, a winning team has been declared on the show Physical: Asia. However, Team Japan’s captain, Yushin Okami, strongly suggested the show was unfair in a recent Instagram post. (Warning: Spoilers follow.)
The spinoff of ‘Physical: 100’ pits nations against each other in grueling physical challenges. The winning country will take home one billion Korean won – about $700,000 – and earn the title of the strongest in Asia.
The final round pitted Team Mongolia against Team Korea, and Team Korea ultimately won. This victory sparked claims that the show’s producers had unfairly favored Korea, likely because the competition was filmed there.
Following the release of the final episode on Netflix, Yushin Okami, captain of Team Japan and a professional MMA fighter, claimed on Instagram that the show Physical: Asia was unfair. However, his post wasn’t as straightforward as it appeared.
Team Japan Yushin Okami reshared a post criticizing Physical: Asia on Instagram

Okami shared a post to his Instagram Story that someone else had tagged him in. The post strongly criticized the game Physical: Asia, but had positive things to say about Team Japan.
A now-deleted online post claimed Japan was unfairly favored as the best team. The author believed the show demonstrated clear bias and suggested it should be run by countries outside of Asia, particularly those competing in the event, to ensure fairness.
After Okami reposted a message on his social media story, many of his followers in Asia thought he had written it himself, which sparked some upset. He quickly understood the confusion and posted another message explaining that he hadn’t actually written the original post.
I want to explain something about a post I shared earlier. I didn’t realize what it meant in English, and it might have been confusing. I also want to say that competing in the Physical: Asia competition was a fantastic experience and a real honor. I was proud to be part of Team Japan and compete alongside such talented athletes.
I’m truly sorry if my recent post caused any confusion for my fans. I really appreciate all of your continued support.
Team Japan came third in Physical: Asia

Okami and Team Japan almost made it to the finals of Castle Conquest. They competed against Team Korea and Team Mongolia, and the challenge was to pull a very heavy, 2.2-tonne cart across a course with obstacles like a drawbridge, all within one hour.
The teams struggled to close the gate, and the task ultimately took over an hour. Team Korea won the Castle Conquest challenge in 17 minutes and 53 seconds, with Team Mongolia close behind at 25 minutes and 15 seconds.
I was so bummed to see Team Japan eliminated from Physical: 100 because they took so long on that last challenge! It really hurt to see them miss the final. But I’m hearing the show’s creators are thinking about doing more versions, like a ‘Physical: World’ competition, which is awesome. Hopefully, that means Team Japan will get another shot and make it all the way to the end next time!
While we wait for news about the show’s future, you can explore a complete list of eliminations and winners from Physical: Asia. You might also be interested in learning whether the show is planned out in advance, and the reason Manny Pacquiao departed.
