A teaching assistant in South Carolina was arrested for allegedly releasing a strong, unpleasant odor – described as “poop spray” – at a high school. This caused weeks of problems and resulted in over $55,000 in damages.
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office reports that 32-year-old Alexander Paul Robertson Lewis sprayed something at West Florence High School multiple times between August 25th and September 19th. This caused health problems for students, like difficulty breathing, and forced the school to spend a lot of money on inspecting and fixing its air conditioning system.
So, I heard this guy, Lewis, got into some serious trouble back on September 19th. Apparently, he was arrested for disrupting school and damaging property. He was stuck in the Florence County Detention Center waiting for a bond hearing, but thankfully, he was released after a judge set his bond at $9,000. Pretty crazy, right?

I saw the Sheriff’s Office’s post on Facebook, and it’s totally blown up! Everyone’s making jokes about this crazy arrest. Some of the top comments I’ve seen – and they have *hundreds* of likes – are things like, “So, was this how you found the gas leak?” and “Okay, one little fart spray prank is funny, but apparently this guy went through a whole can in a week! That’s just… too much.”
Some people were more critical, suggesting the recent incident explained a parent’s earlier complaint about her son’s asthma. One person clarified it was simply fart spray meant as a harmless prank. Others wondered how something like that could even be considered a crime.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out additional charges.
