Taylor Sheridan’s Most Intimate Work Yet Gets Paramount+ Trailer

Paramount+ has started promoting its upcoming Taylor Sheridan series. A first look at the show, which the streaming service calls Sheridan’s most personal project yet, has been revealed in a new trailer.

Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell lead the new series The Madison, playing husband and wife, Stacy and Preston Clyburn. This neo-Western will take place in both the stunning scenery of Montana and the bustling streets of Manhattan, exploring the complex bonds of family.

The Madison Trailer Hints at a Major Character Death

When the new series The Madison was announced, it was presented as a moving story about loss and relationships, centered on a family from New York City who relocate to Montana. However, the trailer suggests that creator Taylor Sheridan might be repeating a pattern from his other shows – eliminating a prominent actor early in the first episode.

The trailer centers on a relationship where one person is drawn to Montana and the other prefers New York City. Though not explicitly stated, it strongly suggests that the death of Preston Clyburn, played by Russell, will be the pivotal event driving the show’s emotional exploration of grief.

Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova, and Matthew Fox join Jeremy Piven and John Paul Raso in the cast of The Madison. Will Arnett will make a special guest appearance.

The Madison is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions.

Is The Madison Part of the Yellowstone Universe?

Originally known as 2024, The Madison began as a continuation of the Yellowstone series. But as more information about the Paramount+ show emerged, its link to the popular Western drama was increasingly minimized.

The promotional materials for The Madison – its trailer and poster – don’t mention Yellowstone at all. This indicates that the show is now moving forward as its own separate series, like other projects from Taylor Sheridan on Paramount+ such as Mayor of Kingstown, Landman, and Tulsa King.

It’s also possible that Paramount+ and Taylor Sheridan are intentionally keeping the link between The Madison and Yellowstone under wraps, hoping to surprise audiences when the stories eventually connect.

The show might also no longer be connected to the world of Yellowstone. This has happened before – Lawmen: Bass Reeves was originally planned as a spin-off of the Yellowstone prequel 1883, but it was later decided that it wouldn’t be part of that same universe.

The new show will debut with six episodes. The first three will be available on Paramount+ starting March 14th, and the remaining three will be released on March 21st. A second season is already confirmed, with a release date to be announced later by Paramount+.
