Bleeding Cool

Building on the terrifying world of The Walking Dead, comes Tales of the Walking Dead. This new anthology series explores the post-apocalyptic landscape through six standalone stories, delving into the emotional and psychological challenges of survival with a mix of horror, drama, and dark humor. It expands the universe fans already know, offering fresh perspectives on what it takes to live in a world overrun by the undead.

Following its broadcast on Sky Max, Tales of the Walking Dead will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on November 10, 2025, distributed by Acorn Media International. You can also download all episodes to own digitally starting October 31, 2025.

This exciting story collection boasts a fantastic cast, including Terry Crews (known from Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Expendables), Olivia Munn (The Newsroom, X-Men: Apocalypse), Parker Posey (The White Lotus, Dazed and Confused), Anthony Edwards (ER, Top Gun), Jessie T. Usher (The Boys, Smile), Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick, Captain America: Brave New World), Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Dominion), Jillian Bell (Workaholics, 22 Jump Street), Poppy Liu (Hacks), and Samantha Morton (The Serpent Queen, The Walking Dead). Each actor brings a unique viewpoint to the story of the apocalypse, exploring not only the external threats but also the darkness within humanity.

This series takes place after the zombie outbreak and focuses on the lives of both returning and new characters as they navigate this dangerous new world. We see doomsday prepper Joe Crews leave his safe haven to find a friend he met online, and he teams up with Evie Munn along the way – a journey that helps them both discover what truly matters. The show also follows two former co-workers, played by Posey and Bell, who are stuck in a time loop as they try to escape Atlanta, constantly reliving the same terrifying hours. Finally, we learn the backstory of the iconic Walking Dead character Alpha, portrayed by Morton, and see her as a mother desperately trying to keep her daughter Lydia safe.

I’m really hooked on this series! There’s this one storyline about a settler named Liu who’s trying to get a scientist, Edwards, to believe we need to take back the land from the ghosts. Then there’s Usher, who just wakes up with no idea who he is and gets accused of murder! And it’s not just that – there’s also Pineda and Ramirez, a couple who are clearly dealing with something awful and end up hiding in a remote house… but it feels like the danger might already be inside with them. It’s so creepy!

Tales of the Walking Dead delivers exactly what fans expect: thrilling stories, impressive visuals, and the signature mix of action, danger, and emotional depth that defines the Walking Dead universe. Each episode tells a unique and suspenseful story, exploring the inner lives of its characters with moments of both terror and surprising humor. It’s a great watch for longtime fans and anyone new to the series.
