Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in The Housemaid, is taking bold steps to promote her new brand, and these actions might get her into legal trouble. While her latest thriller film is proving popular in theaters, the actress is once again in the news for something unrelated to her work as an actor.
According to TMZ, Sydney Sweeney and her team recently filmed a promotional video for her new lingerie line – with financial backing from Jeff Bezos – near the Hollywood sign. The video shows them covering the iconic landmark with bras from her brand. However, TMZ reports that Sweeney’s team didn’t get permission to climb or touch the sign, which could lead to legal trouble. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce confirmed to the outlet that no permission was granted for the stunt. You can see the video for yourself below.
Even though what happened could have been considered a crime, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce wouldn’t say if they planned to involve the police. The bras used in the video were quickly removed after the promotion took place. It’s strange that the video ended up with TMZ, yet there’s no indication anyone will be charged with trespassing or vandalism. It’s possible the video leak and news report were actually part of a planned marketing strategy. Regardless, any attention is usually good attention, at least to some extent.
