Sydney Sweeney’s Cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2 Officially Confirmed

It’s now confirmed that Sydney Sweeney will be in the sequel. Following speculation, she has officially filmed scenes for the movie.

Despite initial reports and sightings of Sydney Sweeney on set last year, her cameo appearance in the film was ultimately cut, according to Entertainment Weekly. She did, in fact, film a scene where she was meant to play herself.

What Happened in Sydney Sweeney’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 Scene?

According to reports, Sydney Sweeney was originally scheduled for a brief appearance early in the movie. However, a source says filmmakers decided against it for creative reasons. She was meant to share a scene with Emily Charlton (played by Emily Blunt), who now leads Dior’s U.S. division.

Miranda Priestly’s previous assistant was originally meant to style actress Sweeney for a scene in the film’s sequel. This scene, which reportedly lasted about three minutes, introduced Emily into the story. However, according to a source, the scene didn’t fit well with the overall flow of the movie, and cutting it was a tough decision.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 Will Be a Star-Studded Affair

Can you believe it’s been almost 20 years since The Devil Wears Prada first came out? I’m so excited to hear they’re making a sequel! Apparently, Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep are both coming back as Andy and Miranda, which is amazing. And even better, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are reprising their roles too, along with Tracie Thoms as Lily. It’s going to be like no time has passed at all!

In addition to the main actors, the sequel also brought back the original team – director David Frankel, writer Aline Brosh McKenna, and producer Wendy Finerman.

The new movie boasts a fantastic cast, featuring Justin Theroux as Emily’s boyfriend, Kenneth Branagh as Miranda’s husband, and Patrick Brammall as Andy’s love interest. It also includes stars like Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Donatella Versace, Rachel Bloom, B.J. Novak, Lady Gaga, Ciara, Calum Harper, and Ashley Graham.

The new trailer shows Andy Sachs has become a successful journalist. She returns to her old workplace, Runway magazine, as the head of Features, tasked with helping to turn things around during a difficult time for the publication and the media industry. As they try to save the magazine, they bring in Emily Charlton for assistance.

The 2006 movie was a big hit, earning $326 million despite costing only $35 to $41 million to make. It’s become a beloved cult classic, and its continued popularity was recently demonstrated by its trailer. Within 24 hours of being released, the trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 garnered 222 million views – making it the most-watched trailer ever for 20th Century Studios.
