Having had the privilege of following Alexandra Rapaport’s stellar performance in “Honour,” I have high expectations for her portrayal of police officer Veronika Gren.
The Swedish original series “Veronika” has been officially announced for a second season on SkyShowtime, as confirmed by EbMaster.
Featuring Alexandra Rapaport (“Honour”) and Tobias Santelmann (“The Arctic Convoy”), this crime drama brings back Rapaport as police officer Veronika Gren, with Santelmann portraying her husband Tomas.
In Season 1, Veronika embarked on a journey to solve the mystery surrounding the deaths of two young women, all while managing her intricate personal life and hidden struggle with drug dependency.
In the next phase of this series, Veronika grapples with both her haunted past and enigmatic visions while eagerly anticipating her return to the police force. As hinted in the plot summary, she becomes entangled in a complex, decades-old murder case. Her personal life, which she’s labored to rebuild, starts to unravel due to a series of interconnected events, revealing the fragility of her facade. Alongside Veronika, characters such as Arvin Kananian, Eddie Eriksson Dominguez, and Sarah Rhodin will also be featured. The esteemed Mikael Håfström (“Evil”), an Academy Award nominee, has been tapped to direct the production.
Veronika” becomes the initial local original show to make a comeback for its second season in over 20 SkyShowtime markets. It’s anticipated that by the end of 2025, Comcast-owned network will have aired over 30 unique original series.
