The independent film label Doppelgänger Releasing has obtained distribution rights for the U.S. release of “Mr. K,” an offbeat mystery movie directed by Tallulah H. Schwab. Starring Crispin Glover, this film had its premiere at Toronto Film Festival and will have its American debut at the Santa Barbara Film Festival on February 7th. Doppelgänger intends to launch the film in cinemas later this year, with a home video release planned afterwards. International sales are being handled by LevelK.
The movie narrates the story of Mr. K (Glover), a wandering magician. Upon arrival at a peculiar and untidy inn, he unwillingly steps into a dream-like nightmare. As he tries to leave the hotel, he instead gets drawn further in, encountering its enigmatic guests. With seemingly no escape, Mr. K contemplates surrender, but then stumbles upon an intriguing secret that might guide him back on his intended path.
Doppelgänger Releasing expressed great admiration for ‘Mr. K,’ a movie that’s consistently disturbing and confusing in creative manners. This film pays tribute to Franz Kafka’s artistry while showcasing Tallulah Schwab’s extraordinary abilities.
