Super Mario Galaxy Movie’s Rosalina ‘leaks’ but there’s something you need to know

Everyone’s anticipating Rosalina’s appearance in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, but be careful! Some images of her design circulating online might actually be fan-made and not official.

Following hints in the first movie – like the Luma, Princess Peach mentioning many galaxies, and the Galaxy book – the anticipated sequel will bring the worlds of both Super Mario Galaxy games to life, along with some unexpected elements from other Mario adventures.

The next installment might take the story in a new direction – some are even hoping to see Wario, even though he wasn’t in the original games. But a few things are essential: it absolutely needs music from the classic soundtrack – fans would be upset if it didn’t include ‘Gusty Garden Galaxy’ – and Rosalina has to make an appearance.

Everyone’s wondering who will portray her and what she’ll look like. As of now, the official answer is that remains a mystery.

That Rosalina leak from Super Mario Galaxy Movie is fake

Rumored leaks about the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy movie are circulating online, and a video on X (formerly Twitter) showcasing potential designs has already garnered over three million views.

These images aren’t genuine, but they’ve caused quite a stir online. One of the images came from Awesome3D, who confirmed they created the base renders and modified them to look like Mario characters. Avovet3D initially took credit for the Rosalina design, adding to the confusion.

Someone online shared a fan-made model of me, which wasn’t supposed to happen,” they explained, posting a picture of a black-and-white Rosalina image.

They admitted to misleading everyone, explaining they did so because they were passionate about the game and believed a leaked rumor was likely true. They essentially confessed to lying to protect the game’s integrity based on the leak.

Turns out the image wasn’t actually created by Nintendo. An online creator named DahJuanPa confessed he found the original Rosalina image online – likely designed by another artist – and then used AI to change her facial expressions. He’s worried Nintendo might take legal action against him.

DahJuanPa also shared that he was surprised by how popular the images became. He tweeted that he initially thought only a small number of people – around ten – would see them.

These images might seem realistic, and Rosalina in the movie could end up looking similar, but these aren’t the official character designs for the film.

So far, the only solid leak we’ve seen is a possible early model of Bowser Jr. made by Jakks Pacific. It makes sense he’d be included, though, since he was a character in the original game.
