‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ Confirms Star Fox Appearance in Video Game Movie Sequel

Just days before its release, Universal is increasing promotion for the highly anticipated sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie, now titled The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The film features the original cast alongside some new faces and draws inspiration from the Super Mario Galaxy video game. This time, Mario and Luigi team up with Princess Peach and Toad for an adventure that takes them to galaxies beyond their own, as Bowser and Bowser Jr. seek revenge on the famous plumbers.

Movie fans already know some new faces will appear in the Mario universe, with Donald Glover voicing Yoshi and Brie Larson, an Academy Award winner, as Rosalina. Adding award-winning director and actor Bennie Safdie as Bowser Jr., the sequel has the potential to surpass the incredible success of the first film, which earned $1.3 billion worldwide. Now, with the release date approaching, Universal has surprised everyone with its biggest casting reveal yet.

Universal Pictures has released a new poster for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie that reveals Fox McCloud will be appearing in the film. Fox, the main character from Nintendo’s beloved Star Fox video game series that debuted in the early 1990s, is shown standing on a box in his familiar outfit. He’s striking a pose, with a finger raised to his eye and his signature green holographic visor over one eye. His exact role in the movie hasn’t been revealed yet.
