I’m so excited for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie to come out! It’s amazing to see Chris Pratt and Charlie Day returning as Mario and Luigi, alongside Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach and, especially, Jack Black as Bowser. But the cast just keeps getting better! They’ve added some incredible new faces like Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., and Brie Larson – who’s a huge Mario fan herself! – as Rosalina. Donald Glover is going to be perfect as Yoshi, too. And it sounds like the story is going to be even bigger than we imagined, taking us to galaxies nobody saw coming. I can’t wait!
Just a week before the new movie came out, Universal revealed a poster showing Fox McCloud, the hero of the Star Fox games, would be making an appearance. While he’s only teamed up with Mario in Super Smash Bros. before, Fox McCloud will now join forces with Team Mario on screen, bringing his signature humor and acrobatic flying skills to the adventure. The announcement of who would voice the character quickly followed, and fans were thrilled!
I was so excited to see Glen Powell announce he’s going to voice Fox McCloud in The Super Mario Bros. Movie on Instagram! The reveal was awesome – he playfully jumped around the theater, even dodging movie posters, all set to Fox’s iconic theme song. Then, he turned around wearing a vest with Fox’s logo and just became the character. It ended with his name appearing on screen and the perfect caption: “Born to Barrel Roll!” He’s absolutely perfect for the role, and I can’t wait to hear him as Fox!
Glen Powell is a familiar face to many moviegoers, having appeared in several popular films and series recently. He’s been in projects like The Running Man, Chad Powers, and the 2023 romantic comedy Anyone But You. He gained even more recognition in 2022 playing Lt. Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin in the blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick, one of the biggest movies of the decade. Powell is also building a strong resume of voice acting work, with recent appearances on animated shows like Robot Chicken, Family Guy, and Rick and Morty.
