
2025 signals a grand milestone of 40 years since Super Mario Bros. first appeared on the NES in Japan. Excitingly, Nintendo has revealed that Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 will be available on the Nintendo Switch.
In the Nintendo Direct on September 12, the company announced that they would be releasing a bundle containing Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 for both the current Nintendo Switch and the future Switch 2. This collection will be available both physically and digitally starting October 2, 2025.
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of Mario, Nintendo came out with a special release: Super Mario 3D All-Stars on the Nintendo Switch. This collection features three iconic games – Super Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy.

Two additional figures from the Amiibo series, representing Mario and Rosalina, were introduced alongside the bundle. Additionally, a new game in the Mario Tennis series called Mario Tennis Fever was unveiled, along with the confirmation that a future Super Mario Bros. version for Switch 2 is in development.
Not only that, but Nintendo disclosed both the title and the star-studded cast for the upcoming Super Mario Bros movie, which is slated for release in 2026.
Chris Pratt will return as Mario, and Bowser will be voiced by Jack Black yet again.
