As a long-time fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, I must say that Gege Akutami has truly outdone himself with this latest revelation. The fact that Wasuke, Itadori’s grandfather, is the reincarnation of Sukuna’s twin is nothing short of mind-blowing.
Warning! Below you will find spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen.
In the anime titled “Jujutsu Kaisen“, it emerged that Yuji Itadori shares a connection with Sukuna, positioning him as an ideal host for the Curse King. Initially, there was a widespread belief that Jin, Itadori’s father, embodied the reborn form of Sukuna’s twin, explaining the strong bond between the protagonist and the primary antagonist.
Based on all indications, such as Sukuna’s words and other signs, it appears that Sukuna’s twin’s soul is in Kenjaku’s control. Since Kenjaku assumed the body of Itadori’s mother, who is Jin’s wife, this has led many to believe that there is a connection between Jin and Sukuna.
Despite some confusion earlier, it was revealed in volume 29 that Jin wasn’t actually the reborn form of Sukuna’s twin. Instead, the real reincarnation was revealed to be Wasuke, Itadori’s grandfather, not Yuji and Sukuna’s connection being dismissed entirely by the author, Gege Akutami.
To be precise, it’s not Itadori’s dad, but his grandfather who shares the same soul.
Do we look similar?
This message changes the view on certain events and draws a parallel between Itadori and his grandfather and Uraume and Sukuna. The first ones are an example of selflessness and love, while the second ones represent selfishness and power.
Readers find themselves taken aback by this revelation, yet they acknowledge its logicality given the resemblances among the characters and the significance of Itadori’s grandfather within the narrative.
Yuji’s grandfather’s initial words resonate more deeply today… amazing. They were two souls, traveling separate journeys. Yet, they both experienced close-to-death epiphanies… Such a profound thought – Valkyla_.
So it wasn’t Jin?! That just means Sukuna is Yuji’s great uncle now – DbsContents.
Bro this is NOT something you leave in volume extras – RebeloBenji.
And what do you think about the fact that Wasuke is the reincarnation of Sukuna’s twin?
