NBCUniversal is gearing up for an exciting venture. They’ve unveiled the initial preview for the “Suits” spinoff titled “Suits: LA.” Starring Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a former New York federal prosecutor who has rebranded himself and now takes on high-profile clients in Los Angeles. The new show debuts on NBC on February 23rd.
The main character, Ted, finds himself in a critical situation where his company is at risk. To keep it afloat, he’s forced to take on a role he despised throughout his career. Amidst this, Ted navigates a brilliant ensemble of characters who grapple with the tension between their loyalty towards Ted and one another. As they intertwine their personal and professional lives, secrets from the past begin to surface that compelled Ted to abandon everything and everyone he cherished years ago.
Alongside Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, Troy Winbush, Victoria Justice, and the return of the initial lead, Gabriel Macht, are also part of the cast in this production.
Aaron Korsh, the brain behind “Suits”, is penning the script and serving as an executive producer along with David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein for the show Hypnotic. Victoria Mahoney takes charge of directing the pilot episode and also serves as an executive producer. UCP, who were responsible for producing the original series, will once again serve as the studio.
Beatrice Springborn, head of Universal International Studios and UCP, had earlier stated that the series is set within the same fictional realm as the original one.
The “Suits” TV show initially aired from 2011-2019 on USA Network, but its popularity soared when the first eight seasons were added to Netflix last year. The series dominated Netflix’s top charts for weeks following its release on the platform and has been watched for over 45 billion minutes across Netflix and Peacock together.
