This clue in *Cookie Jam* was really tricky! I initially thought it might be described with several words, but thankfully we didn’t have to guess from every letter. The solution is:

The answer, “distance,” is a perfect match for the clue because it specifically refers to the amount of space between two things. We use this concept all the time – when figuring out how far away a place is, or when measuring points on a map. Whether we’re speaking casually or doing math, asking “how far” is the same as asking for the distance. It directly represents the idea of the space connecting two points, regardless of how close or far they are.
