Streamer Tigz has achieved a remarkable first: they were the first player to successfully complete an ‘Escape from Tarkov‘ raid without dying, a feat many considered impossible.
Escape from Tarkov truly changed the landscape of extraction shooter games when it first launched in early access back in 2016. While many similar games have appeared and disappeared since then, Tarkov has continued to thrive and recently achieved its full 1.0 release on November 15, 2025.
After eight years, it’s amazing – you can finally finish the game! It used to be you just jumped in, grabbed what you needed, and left, but now there’s a real ending – actually, several different ways to finish things up, which is awesome!
Content creator Tigz recently found a way to truly escape from the dangerous world of Tarkov. It’s not a joke – the game now allows players to actually fulfill the promise of its name and leave!
Tigz makes the world’s first escape out of Tarkov
Soon after the game’s official launch, an update on December 1st introduced a new map called Terminal, which was intended to be the last map added to the game.
Players can now escape Tarkov and finish the game’s story by reaching the Terminal.
After a hugely exciting experience – so exciting it left them speechless – Tigz was the first to unlock one of the game’s new endings on December 2nd. But the new content wasn’t entirely positive.
There are actually four different ways the game Tarkov can end for players. If you follow Tigz’s path, you’ll successfully escape, but Tarkov will be destroyed by a nuclear blast, and the opposing forces will rebuild. The game describes this as choosing to ‘run for the sake of survival’.
Huge congratulations to @RealTigz for being the first player to successfully complete Escape from Tarkov! They made it through, but the journey certainly took a toll.

Nikita Buyanov, the director of Escape from Tarkov, considers this ending to be the second-worst of the game’s four possible conclusions. Players generally agree the best outcome would be one where Tarkov isn’t destroyed by a nuclear blast.
Buyanov announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the first player to achieve the game’s best ending will receive a special reward.
Players are still exploring the Terminal map, trying to unlock the elusive ‘Best’ ending. But even if others succeed, Tigz will always be remembered as the very first player to complete Escape from Tarkov.
