Stranger Things star promises Season 5 won’t be like Game of Thrones finale

The popular show *Stranger Things* is coming to an end, and one of its stars assures fans that the final season will deliver a satisfying conclusion, unlike the controversial ending of *Game of Thrones*.

Season 4 revealed Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), the main villain secretly controlling the Upside Down all along. His attack on Hawkins now sets up a huge showdown in Season 5 of Stranger Things.

The show premiered on Netflix in 2016, quickly making its young actors famous and becoming a huge part of popular culture. Netflix is very confident about the final season, and actually gave it a larger budget than the movie *Avengers: Endgame*. Because of this, there’s a lot riding on how the show concludes.

The actors involved in Stranger Things are hopeful about the upcoming fifth season, and one of the main stars assures fans it will deliver a satisfying conclusion, unlike the ending of Game of Thrones.

Finn Wolfhard addresses concerns about Stranger Things Season 5 ending

Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, didn’t reveal any details about what’s coming in the final season of Stranger Things. However, he shared that the cast was initially worried about letting fans down with Season 5.

Honestly, we were all pretty stressed about this show. Seeing how badly the final season of *Game of Thrones* was received, everyone was hoping we wouldn’t end up with something similar – that we could avoid a similar disaster.

“But then we read the scripts. We knew that it was something special.”

The final season of Game of Thrones consisted of just six episodes and concluded with a shocking turn of events: Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, killed Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) after she destroyed King’s Landing and killed many innocent people.

In the end, Bran Stark (played by Isaac Hempstead) became the new king. The last episode, ‘The Iron Throne,’ received overwhelmingly negative reviews and was voted one of the worst TV series finales ever in a public poll.

Like the final season of Game of Thrones, expectations are incredibly high for the last season of Stranger Things. However, Finn Wolfhard and the rest of the cast seem sure it will deliver a satisfying conclusion.

Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson, has said he’d be open to revisiting the role in the future.

I’d be thrilled to revisit the role of Dustin sometime in the future, but not for a long while yet. If they asked me to do it again in about fifteen years, I’d say yes immediately – I couldn’t resist!

While we wait for the final season, here’s everything we’ve learned about Stranger Things Season 5, plus a list of our favorite shows currently on Netflix.
