The final episode of Stranger Things was packed with action, scary moments, emotional scenes, and even some character deaths. However, a confusing plot point involving one of the villains has left many fans frustrated. Be warned: spoilers follow…
Man, after almost ten years, the last episode of Stranger Things finally dropped, and it totally delivered! It was awesome seeing pretty much everyone get a good ending – super satisfying as a fan.
Vecna was defeated when Joyce severed his head, and she found happiness by getting engaged to Hopper. All the children who had been kidnapped were saved, and the heroes of Hawkins were able to begin healing. Eleven seems to be thriving in a new home.
Many viewers feel one character received a disappointing and illogical conclusion in the series finale, creating a major plot problem that’s hard to overlook.
Dr. Kay didn’t get the ending she deserved

Fans were thrilled when Linda Hamilton, known for her role in Terminator, was announced as Dr. Kay, the new villain in Stranger Things. A large part of Season 5 will focus on her chasing after Eleven.
However, in the final episode, she mostly watches from the sidelines—especially when Eleven traps herself in the Upside Down—and we don’t learn what happens to Kay or her soldiers afterward.
Instead, the show skips ahead a year and a half. Kay and her soldiers have disappeared, and the events in the Upside Down are simply attributed to an earthquake. Fans of Stranger Things are frustrated by this unresolved storyline.
Fans are confused and frustrated about Dr. Kay’s sudden disappearance from the show. Many question what happened to her and the military unit she was with. Some viewers feel she was an unnecessary character, and others criticize her as poorly written, finding her villainous actions unjustified and lacking motivation.
Doctor Kay is the worst-written character of all time, like. She is so evil, for no reason.

Honestly, a lot of us are really confused and annoyed by the whole Dr. Kay storyline. Like, who is she and what’s her purpose? One of us pointed out that it didn’t make sense why she didn’t just tell the soldiers to leave the kids alone so they wouldn’t have to deal with El. She just stood there and watched everything happen! It’s frustrating because she was so focused on finding El, and then she didn’t do anything when she finally did!
Most fans of Stranger Things were hoping to see the character Dr. Kay suffer a terrible fate. Many reacted with disbelief that he seemingly escaped consequences, with one viewer asking, “Are you saying Dr. Kay actually got away with everything?” Others expressed even stronger feelings.
Fans expressed disappointment that Dr. Kay survived the finale of Stranger Things. One viewer bluntly stated they wanted to see Dr. Kay killed onscreen, specifically by having her neck broken, while another agreed, wishing Eleven had been the one to do it.
