
The popular Netflix series, Stranger Things, just released its fifth and final season. Before the new episodes even came out, people were revisiting older seasons, quickly making the show a top 10 hit again. As a result, it was no surprise that the final season shattered viewership records on the platform – and it did!
The first part of Stranger Things 5 had the biggest premiere of any English-language series on Netflix. The new episodes from the Duffer Brothers were watched 59.6 million times in just the first five days. This breaks the previous record held by Wednesday at 56 million views. However, Squid Game season two remains the most popular, with 68 million views.
The latest season of Stranger Things has reached a new high in viewership. The final episode of the first part of season five received an incredible rating of 9.7/10 on IMDB – the best score the series has ever achieved. With such a dramatic plot twist, it’s safe to say millions will be watching when Volume 2 of Stranger Things 5 is released.
Season 5 of Stranger Things is set in the fall of 1987, after the events that opened a gateway to another dimension have left their mark on Hawkins. The main characters come together with the shared goal of finding and stopping Vecna. Trouble is brewing once more in the town, and the upcoming confrontation promises to be the most perilous one yet.
The final season of Stranger Things has begun! Volume 1 is now available on Netflix. Volume 2 will be released on December 26th, and the very last episodes will arrive on January 1st.
