‘Stop! That! Train!’ Trailer Reveals New RuPaul Action Comedy

The world of RuPaul’s Drag Race is growing with a new movie called Stop! That! Train!. It’s directed by Adam Shankman, who often appears as a judge on Drag Race (he’s known for films like Hairspray and The Wedding Planner), and features a cast full of Drag Race queens and other well-known celebrities.

RuPaul stars as President Judy Gagwell in a new movie where a speeding train is about to crash into a dangerous storm called a “Stormaganza.” Everyone on board is at risk, including a diverse group of passengers – young, old, and even Sarah Michelle Gellar. Hopefully, this role offers Gellar a positive experience after her planned Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot was canceled by Hulu.

This movie is a lighthearted and over-the-top comedy that doesn’t try to be anything more than fun. It feels similar to spoof movies like Airplane! and the Scary Movie series, or the intentionally exaggerated performances you might see on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Check out the trailer below!

Viewers of RuPaul’s Drag Race will spot many familiar queens in the trailer. Ginger Minj, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 10, and Jujubee, a long-time fan favorite, play flight attendants on the Glamazonian Express. They work in the back of the train, serving a less affluent clientele who are shown washing their clothes on washboards. Meanwhile, in first class, Symone (Season 13 winner), Marcia Marcia Marcia (from Season 15), and Brooke Lynn Heights (host of Canada’s Drag Race) play snooty flight attendants. The question is, can these two groups of flight attendants put aside their differences and survive? Ultimately, though, this movie is all about laughs and fabulous outfits – don’t expect a serious, suspenseful plot.

As a huge fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race, I was thrilled to see some familiar faces popping up in this – Latrice Royale, Monét X Change, and of course, Michelle Visage! But the cast doesn’t stop there. They’ve also got a ton of hilarious comedic actors, like Joel McHale and Brian Jordan Alvarez (who I was bummed to see lost The English Teacher on Hulu, but glad to see him here!). Jesse Tyler Ferguson from Modern Family, Raven-Symoné, and Saturday Night Live‘s Chris Parnell as the conductor are all fantastic additions. It seems Rachel Bloom, known from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, is playing the perfectly bewildered straight person amidst all the craziness. There’s this great line where she asks Parnell, the conductor, “Are you telling me you’re on a runaway train?” and he deadpans, “Worse. We can’t stop.” It’s brilliant!

If you enjoy silly, over-the-top humor, you’ll probably love Stop! That! Train! It’s hitting theaters on June 12, 2026.

Also, Charo is there.
