A Stephen King-approved horror show is lighting up the streaming charts.
Stephen King is still one of the most famous and highly-regarded authors in the horror genre. Many of his stories have been made into movies and TV shows, with Edgar Wright’s The Running Man (2025) being the latest adaptation. Beyond writing new books, King is also a regular on social media, where he frequently praises shows and films he likes.
The show has become a long-running hit, appearing in the top 10 on MGM+ in the U.S. for a total of 402 days since its 2022 debut. While not all those days were in a row, it’s still an impressive accomplishment. Currently, it’s back at number one, ahead of other popular series like Mercy (2026), 2012 (2009), Roofman (2025), and The Equalizer (2014).
Created by John Griffin, From centers on the people of a small town in America and their struggle to understand why anyone who enters is held captive. As they investigate the truth, they also encounter terrifying, supernatural dangers lurking in the nearby forest.
The show is performing well on MGM+ just before the fourth season begins on April 19th. Fans have waited a long time for the new episodes, as the previous season finished in November 2024.
The cast of From is led by Harold Perrineau as Boyd Stevens, and also includes Catalina Sandino Moreno, Eion Bailey, Pegah Ghafoori, David Alpay, and Hannah Cheramy. All of these actors are anticipated to be back for season four, and Julia Doyle will be joining as a main cast member.
The show is still receiving rave reviews, thanks to its captivating mystery and excellent acting. It currently has a 96% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and audiences give it a strong 80% score on the site’s Popcornmeter.
Stephen King clearly likes the show, as he posted a positive message about it on Bluesky last January, also mentioning Apple TV’s Silo. He said:
Last year and this year, only two shows really grabbed my attention with their intriguing, unfolding mysteries – similar to shows like LOST. Those were FROM and SILO, but everyone’s tastes are different, so you might feel differently.
Season 4 will continue the story right after the dramatic events of season 3, which revealed important information about Tabitha and Jade. Like previous seasons, it will have 10 episodes.
With the premiere of season 4 just over a week away, viewers are already rewatching previous seasons to get ready. New episodes will debut on April 19th, and then new ones will be released every Sunday on MGM+.
