Starfield On PS5 Won’t Be Announced Until 2026 – Report

While Microsoft hasn’t confirmed it yet, a recent report suggests Starfield could be coming to PlayStation 5 next year. Fans have been anticipating a PS5 version of the Bethesda RPG, especially as Microsoft has been releasing more of its Xbox games on Sony’s console.

According to reliable sources, including leaker NateTheHate2 on X, Starfield is expected to be released on PlayStation 5 in 2026. A report from August suggested the game could arrive on Sony’s system as early as spring 2026, potentially alongside a new expansion. Hints of a potential expansion, possibly called ‘Terran Armada,’ appeared in a Starfield anniversary video released by Bethesda in September.

Early in the year, Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, didn’t dismiss the possibility of the game Starfield being released on PlayStation 5. There was even a brief appearance of a PS5 logo on the website for the Bethesda Creation Kit, related to a Starfield mod, back in March.

There’s a growing possibility that Starfield could appear on platforms beyond the PlayStation 5. A reliable source previously suggested the game is planned for release on the upcoming Switch 2 in 2026. Xbox is already bringing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to the Switch 2 next year, and several major Xbox games have already launched on PS5. This demonstrates that Xbox is open to supporting both Nintendo and PlayStation consoles with its games.

Starfield first came out in 2023 and is currently playable on PC and Xbox Series X|S. You can find a detailed review on TopMob’s website.
